Job description
At Zelora, we make home electrification simpler and more affordable.
Backed by Bunnings and powered by Intellihub, our Australian-first subscription model for Solar & Battery helps households take control of their energy without the hassle, complexity or significant upfront cost.
We're a young brand with strong backing and a clear ambition: to become the name Australians turn to when they're ready to electrify their homes with solar, battery and beyond.
Our team is entrepreneurial, fast-moving and close to the work. Every person has genuine ownership of what we build and how we grow, while being supported by a positive, safe and productive workplace where people can thrive.
We're building a business, brand and culture from the ground up, and helping Australians confidently make the switch to renewable energy along the way.
We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded Sales Manager to play a pivotal role in building and scaling Zelora's sales function.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you'll own sales performance and help shape the strategy, capability, operating model and customer engagement approach required to deliver Zelora's ambitious growth plans.
This is more than a traditional sales management role. You'll have the opportunity to build and scale a high-performing sales team, combining strategic thinking and commercial judgement with strong people leadership and a willingness to stay close to customers and execution.
You'll lead a growing sales team responsible for helping customers navigate home electrification and select solutions that meet their individual needs. You'll use data and insight to continually improve performance, while partnering across the business to create a seamless customer experience from initial enquiry through to sale and beyond.
What you'll be doing
- Set and execute Zelora's sales strategy, translating ambitious growth objectives into clear commercial priorities, sales plans and measurable outcomes.
- Build and scale a high-performing sales function, developing the people, capability, processes and operating rhythms required to support rapid business growth.
- Own sales performance and revenue delivery, using pipeline, conversion, customer and performance insights to identify opportunities, anticipate challenges and drive sustained improvement.
- Shape Zelora's customer engagement and conversion strategy, optimising how we engage customers across phone, digital, LiveChat, text and emerging AI-enabled channels.
- Create a best-in-class sales operating model, continuously improving lead management, customer journeys, sales processes, scripts, tools and technology to increase conversion, productivity and customer outcomes.
- Lead, inspire and develop the sales team, building a performance culture grounded in accountability, coaching, collaboration, customer focus and continuous improvement.
- Embed a consultative, needs-based and ethical sales culture, ensuring commercial performance is achieved through high-quality customer conversations and solutions appropriate to individual customer needs.
- Develop robust forecasting, pipeline management and performance frameworks, providing clear visibility of sales performance, emerging trends, risks and growth opportunities.
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Service, Field Operations, Product and Technology to ensure the end-to-end customer proposition supports growth and a seamless customer experience.
- Use data and customer insight to influence strategic decisions, identifying opportunities to improve propositions, channels, processes and commercial performance.
- Build scalable sales capability for the future, anticipating the people, technology, channel and process requirements needed as Zelora grows.
- Be a point of escalation for customers and frontline performance, stepping into execution when required and ensuring strategy remains grounded in what is happening in the market and across the sales funnel.
Qualifications
We're looking for a commercially astute, strategic and highly capable sales leader who can translate ambitious growth objectives into a scalable, high-performing sales operation.
You'll be comfortable setting direction while staying close enough to customers, people and performance to understand what is driving results and where the next opportunity lies.
You'll bring:
- Proven experience leading and scaling high-performing sales teams, ideally within a phone-based, inside sales, contact centre or high-volume consumer sales environment.
- A strong track record of developing and executing sales strategies that deliver ambitious growth, revenue and conversion targets.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment, navigating ambiguity, changing priorities and evolving business needs while maintaining momentum and focus.
- Strong commercial and strategic thinking, with the ability to translate customer, market and performance insights into clear priorities and action.
- Experience building and scaling sales capability, including people, processes, technology, channel strategy and performance frameworks.
- A sophisticated approach to sales performance management, using data, forecasting, pipeline insights and leading indicators to identify opportunities and drive stronger commercial outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire and coach high-performing teams, creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and customer focus.
- Proven experience embedding a consultative, needs-based and ethical sales approach that balances commercial performance with positive and appropriate customer outcomes.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with experience challenging and redesigning sales processes, customer journeys, scripts and tools to improve conversion, efficiency and customer experience.
- The ability to think strategically about the evolution of sales channels and customer engagement, including phone, digital, LiveChat, text and emerging AI-enabled capabilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions.
- Confidence working with CRM and sales technology platforms, with HubSpot experience highly regarded.
- Experience in solar, battery and energy-related products would be highly advantageous.
- A genuine passion for building businesses, creating exceptional customer experiences and accelerating the transition to clean energy.
Why join Zelora?
This is an opportunity to join at a formative stage and have a genuine influence on how Zelora grows.
- Build, don't just inherit. Help shape the sales strategy, capability, processes and culture of a growing business.

- Work at pace. Join an entrepreneurial environment where ideas can move quickly from opportunity to execution.
- Shape the customer experience. Help make home electrification simpler and easier for Australian households.
- Help build the future of home energy. Be part of a business focused on helping Australians confidently make the switch to renewable energy.

The company focuses on installing, maintaining, financing, and operating smart meters and related infrastructure for electricity, gas, and water networks, serving residential, commercial, industrial, embedded networks, and solar metering customers (source: arena.gov.au). Projects & Track Record
One of Intellihub's flagship initiatives is the Demand Flexibility Platform, launched with $9.75 million in government funding from ARENA against a $22 million budget in December 2023. This project aims to aggregate 510 MW of load control by enrolling over 140,000 customer devices to support virtual power plant operations for retailer partners (source: arena.gov.au). Intellihub also led Australia's first and largest power pole-mounted EV charging project, managing all aspects from project management and stakeholder coordination to product development, metering, and charge point operations (source: arena.gov.au).
