For the period 2026 to 2031, the company plans net investments of €35 billion to expand renewable energy, battery storage, and flexible power plant capacity by 25 GW to around 65 GW (source: rwe.com). This includes €9 billion for flexible backup and large battery projects, as well as up to 3 GW of hydrogen-capable gas power plants in Germany, plus €7 billion for onshore wind and solar in Europe and Australia (source: rwe.com). Offshore wind capacity reached 3.3 GW pro rata at the end of 2025, and five UK projects secured government contracts with expected capacity up to 6.9 GW, of which RWE holds 3.5 GW (source: rwe.com).
