What They Do

SPIE Wind Germany GmbH, formerly ROBUR WIND, focuses exclusively on services in the wind energy sector. The company provides comprehensive solutions for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of wind turbines, including major component replacements and repairs, rotor blade and tower services, as well as electrical and mechanical assemblies. Additionally, SPIE Wind offers qualification and training programs and support in aviation technology, such as the retrofitting of night markings that were required until summer 2021 (source: spie-wind.com). These services cover the entire lifecycle of wind turbines, including construction, commissioning, retrofitting measures, and 24/7 operational monitoring.

Projects & Track Record

SPIE Wind Germany GmbH supports wind farms that generate over 170 GW of total capacity in Europe. Ongoing operations include comprehensive O&M services and repairs that have been provided since the integration of REETEC in July 2020. The company has significant partnerships, including a global operational alliance with OWS Off-Shore Wind Solutions GmbH, which provides facilities in Emden and engineering services, as well as Wind Multiplikator GmbH, which has been active in project management since 2014 (source: spie-wind.com). The geographical presence extends across Germany, Austria, the Baltic States, North America, and South America.

Recent Developments

Starting in 2024, SPIE Wind will be restructured under SPIE Industry Service & Wind, focusing on growth from the ROBUR phase from 2015 to 2024 (source: spie-industry-service.com). No major contracts, acquisitions, or awards have been documented in the last two years. Leadership changes include the appointment of Javier Amelivia as Managing Director for SPIE WIND Europe and Tim Petersen for SPIE WIND Baltics, indicating regional expansion efforts (source: spie-industry-service.com).

Working There

SPIE Wind offers positions in wind-specific services, including O&M technicians, rotor blade specialists, electrical and mechanical assemblers, and engineers for drivetrain and aviation systems. Recruitment takes place at key locations in Germany, including Bremen (headquarters), Emden, Pfullendorf, and others (source: spie-wind.com). The company culture emphasizes safety, quality, commitment, and innovation, which is highlighted in its integrations and leadership claims.
