What they do
Conversio Energie GmbH is an integrated energy infrastructure service provider based in Spittal an der Drau, offering a wide range of energy technologies and electrical engineering solutions. The company covers photovoltaics, battery storage, small hydropower, hydrogen storage, heat pumps, air conditioning, e-mobility charging stations, electrical installations, switchgear, grid connection and energy control systems, going far beyond pure renewable energy generation (source: conversioenergie.at). Its customer base includes private households, agricultural businesses, commercial clients, public sector clients and industrial companies, highlighting the versatility of the solutions offered (source: conversioenergie.at). The company pursues a holistic approach encompassing system planning, electrical execution, supply, installation, commissioning and service, acting as a one-stop shop for energy infrastructure projects (source: conversioenergie.at). Photovoltaic solutions range from garage roofs and single-family homes to large agricultural and industrial plants, including grid-connected systems with feed-in, off-grid configurations and commercial full-feed systems (source: conversioenergie.at). Battery storage is offered for private as well as commercial and industrial applications, focusing on self-consumption optimisation, grid support and load management (source: conversioenergie.at).
Projects and track record
An outstanding reference project in East Tyrol includes eight solar tracker systems with 20 modules each and a total output of 67.20 kWp, presented as a flagship project in the region (source: conversioenergie.at). Additionally, Conversio Energie completed a hydrogen storage project in Carinthia with a storage capacity of around 2,000 kWh, which required an intensive one-year planning phase (source: conversioenergie.at). The portfolio also includes photovoltaic, storage, hydropower and heating projects, including a private PV system in Spittal an der Drau, emphasising direct customer contact from consultation to completion (source: conversioenergie.at). The geographical focus is on Austria, especially Carinthia and East Tyrol, while corporate communications refer to a network of 16 locations across Europe, including seven in Austria (source: osttirol-heute.at).
Current developments
In June 2026, a new site was opened in Lienz-Peggetz, East Tyrol, consolidating the expertise of Conversio Energie with BS Transport and MET Elektro Unterlerchner and strengthening regional presence (source: osttirol-heute.at). The service range has been expanded to include grid expansion components, including complete medium-voltage grid connections for large photovoltaic systems, battery storage and small hydropower plants, covering planning, manufacturing, commissioning and grid operator coordination (source: conversioenergie.at). Furthermore, the company is increasingly focusing on commercial storage applications such as peak load management, self-consumption optimisation and grid support, indicating an expansion beyond the private solar market towards larger commercial and industrial energy systems (source: conversioenergie.at).
Working there
The fields of activity at Conversio Energie include electrical engineering, photovoltaic planning and installation, battery storage technology, hydropower, hydrogen systems, switchgear and transformer station design, commissioning, service, project management, sales, procurement and customer support (sources: conversioenergie.at, conversioenergie.at).
