We are building a state-of-the-art Gigafactory that will be one of the largest cell production facilities in Europe. We are now looking for a Fire Safety Responsible to join our Health, Safety & Environment team!

Together, we have formed a joint venture, NOVO Energy, to power the next generation of pure electric Volvo and Polestar cars.

What you will do

We are now looking for a Fire Safety Responsible (Brandskyddsansvarig) for our growing Site Safety Organization.

In your role as Fire Safety Responsible you will be responsible to ensure the implementation and maintenance of fire safety measures, policies and procedures at NOVO Energy Production AB.

In this role it is important that you have a documented experience within operational fire safety and have an understanding for the requirements put on a complex situation, as you will be working on a site that will be under construction while also preparing to transform it into a world-class battery manufacturing site. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to) :

  • Create and implement fire safety policies and procedures tailored to the specific needs and risks of the organization. These policies should cover fire prevention, evacuation plans, fire drills, and the proper use of fire safety equipment.
  • Perform risk assessments to identify potential fire hazards, which includes assessing flammable materials, electrical systems, fire load, and other factors that could contribute to fire incidents.
  • Implement proactive fire prevention strategies, which includes promoting good housekeeping, ensuring proper storage of flammable materials, and eliminating potential ignition sources.
  • Organize and conduct fire safety training within the organization.
  • Develop and test emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and assembly points.
  • Carry out inspections and oversee the maintenance of equipment.

We believe that you have

  • University (or advanced) degree in relevant field.
  • 3+ years working experience within fire safety in Sweden.
  • Good ability to communicate and collaborate.
  • Excellent English written and oral skills.
  • Working business-level reading, writing, and speaking proficiency in Swedish.

Our Gigafactory in Gothenburg will be one of the largest cell production facilities in Europe, with a potential annual cell production capacity of up to 50 gigawatt hours (GWh) - thereby enabling a supply of batteries for approximately half a million Volvo and Polestar cars per year. Our state-of-the-art R&D facility will gather leading expertise from all over the world, to create the next generation battery cells.
