As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing projects of varying sizes and complexities, primarily focusing on technical issues related to PV solar assets at different stages of their lifecycle (development, construction, and operations). Your main objective is to efficiently manage the assigned projects, ensuring resource control, and keeping all relevant parties informed of the progress.

The primary project associated with this job opening is a 60MW PV project located in Eastern Sicily, with construction scheduled to commence in Q2 2024. Quintas' Italian headquarters is situated in the centre of Rome. However, due to the project's location and the necessity for on-site visits, the position will be based remotely in Sicily.

The role requires:

  • An excellent understanding of the management of PV projects under design and construction in terms of technical requirements, contracts, warranties, liabilities, etc.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with an ability to collaborate and drive performance under pressure. You will be a confident negotiator capable of interpreting plant and contractor performance to identify issues and resolve them effectively with EPCs, subcontractors and service providers.
  • Knowledge and experience to assess and select the optimal technical and/or commercial solutions in any given set of circumstances.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Representing the Owner during the design and construction phases of the projects with all the relevant stakeholders.
  • Visit the site on a weekly basis to review the project’s quality execution and progress.
  • Close coordination with the Owner, EPC, Owner’s Engineer, and Construction Monitoring companies.
  • Review the EPC’s quality plan and manage quality assurance and control of components, construction works, installation works.
  • Manage the project’s milestones and the associated payments.
  • Liaison with Owner and stakeholders, including EPC, planning council, landlord, among others.
  • Managing projects, ensuring quality, time and costs are controlled and strategic objectives are being met.
  • Assessing solutions from a technical-commercial perspective.
  • Assessing the potential risks, liabilities, and non-compliance issues of the target projects for our clients
  • Reviewing technical PV projects designs produced by third parties and provide relevant advice and suggestions for improvement.
  • Preparing energy yield assessments. Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, QGIS and PVSyst software.
  • Execute activities related to performance analysis, technical due diligence, and advisory projects being undertaken by Quintas Advisory, with emphasis on interdisciplinary thinking and approach.
  • Sharing knowledge and lessons learnt across the portfolio and promoting continual improvement in all aspects of our work.
  • Manage communication and co-ordination between project stakeholders – internal and external.

Requirements

  • You should have educated to degree level in a relevant engineering or technical discipline with significant knowledge of solar energy technology, development, and construction processes.
  • The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of proven experience in leading and delivering projects in a dynamic business environment. Ideally, you have a project management certification like PMP or Prince2.
  • Experience and background in wind and/or battery storage are desirable.
  • Your background should preferably include several of the following: project design, technical advisory, or asset management. Experience in Owner’s engineering services is valued.
  • You will have excellent analytical skills and experience in carrying out due diligence for renewable energy projects.
  • This role requires the candidate to speak and write in Italian and English at a fluent business level; knowledge of Spanish will be an advantage.
  • Strong presentational and reporting skills are required, as well as preparing and delivering periodic and special reports to Quintas Energy’s clients.
  • Driving license is a must.
  • Preferably own car.
