Process Engineer

We are seeking multiple Senior Process Engineers to join our world-class Manufacturing teams. Our Manufacturing Teams are a cross-disciplinary group of experts in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, and Manufacturing. Together, we’re responsible for designing, developing, and scaling cutting-edge battery assembly manufacturing processes for Form Energy’s Iron-Air multi-day battery.

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and landing novel manufacturing processes for the core assembly technologies of Form Energy’s battery technology, making significant contributions to the operational success of our Iron-Air Battery assembly processes as a whole. We are looking for someone who has hands-on experience developing new technologies from concept to scaled implementation, and a proactive, interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving. Your work will make a significant and daily impact on cutting-edge battery technology that will revolutionize the electric grid and bring major change to grid reliability and sustainability. What you'll do

• Partner closely with our Manufacturing Equipment Team to design, build, install, and run processes on first-of-kind manufacturing equipment
• Prioritize safety across all aspects of manufacturing, ranging from process design to scaled manufacturing
• Demonstrate ownership and accountability, making a major impact on our battery technology by commissioning and owning novel processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Work with a diverse range of teams inside and outside the company to achieve major manufacturing milestones, such as launching revolutionary production methods and capabilities.
• Provide data-driven feedback to the Design team (DFM) to simplify manufacturing processes
• Develop novel test methods to evaluate products in real time during production.
• Mentor, guide, and support team members with your expertise and practical experience

What you'll bring

• 4+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment, ideally in NPI or scale–up
• Hands on experience with medium to large equipment and desire to roll up your sleeves and fill the gaps where necessary
• Comfort using statistical methods to make process development decisions (using JMP or Minitab or equivalent)
• Experience owning manufacturing processes and showing accountability for their quality, throughput, yield, and overall success (Examples: joining processes for metal & plastics, leak testing, electrical testing, in-line quality checks)
• Experience authoring process, safety, and quality documentation for best-in-class practices
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Direct experience with batteries a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent
