You

A Level 4 trade qualification as a Fitter Turner or Fitter Machinist is essential along with solid mechanical engineering skills and maintenance experience working in power generation and heavy rotating plant. You’ll be involved with precision fitting and measuring work so someone looking to get out back out on site after workshop management could also be a great fit, along with:

• Team player with strong communication skills
• Hydropower maintenance experience is ideal to allow you to hit the ground running
• Natural leadership with strong engagement and communication skills
• Commitment to safe working practices and quality procedures
• Flexibility to work extended and flexible hours as and when required - including periodic work around the region

As a skilled tradesperson you’ll have earned the respect of your peers and leaders alike for your knowledge, ability to think clearly under pressure and for your willingness to support and guide your work team. This is a senior position for someone able to work unsupervised and ideally lead a team of 3-7 people.

The Role

Our teams are motivated and pull together to get their work done on time, or early, to impress our clients. As a Mechanical Fitter/Supervisor with us, you’ll enjoy getting out to client sites, working on the installation of modern hydro turbine equipment and learning from industry leaders in hydro technology.

If successful you will become a part of a legacy project at Roxburgh power station where new Turbine Runners and equipment are currently being installed.

The role will encompass the disassembly of redundant equipment and the installation of newly manufactured OEM components, you will learn or build on your knowledge of Hydropower and heavy machinery installation and rotating plant alignment.
