Job Description
At Voltalia we are passionate about renewable energies! We are an electricity producer from wind, solar, hydro, biomass and storage and also a service provider to 3rd party clients such as Development, EPC, O&M and Distribution. Today we are in 20 countries, split among 4 continents, and offering a global operating capacity to our clients. We are listed on the regulated Euronext market in Paris since July 2014.
Our Center Of Expertise Business Line is looking for a Civil Engineer Trainee, (IEFP Intership) to Porto or Oliveira de Frades, who will have the following responsibilities:
- Designing, reviewing, and analyzing steel mounting structures for photovoltaic (PV) plants, considering both technical performance and cost-efficiency.
- Performing topographical analysis and creating 3D surface models to assess and optimize earthworks.
- Applying hydrological knowledge to design surface drainage systems for PV sites.
- Interpreting and assessing geotechnical reports to determine appropriate foundation types for structures, roads, and buildings.
- Contributing to the design of solar PV projects worldwide, with attention to both engineering and economic considerations.
- Preparing civil execution plans, including drainage, roads, earthworks, and foundation layouts.
- Supporting the tendering process through RFQ (Request for Quotation) reviews, technical requirement analysis, and development of detailed designs.
- Communicating with suppliers to evaluate technical solutions and alternatives.
- Preparing technical documentation such as Bills of Quantities, technical descriptions, calculations, specifications, and drawings.
- Offer technical assessment and support in site surveys worldwide.
- Conducting research into new technologies and potential improvements to structures and infrastructure.
- Reviewing and verifying external design documents and calculations.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- AutoCAD and Civil 3D domain.
- Robot structural software domain.
- Solar PV design tool knowledge valued (Helios3D, PVCase, etc.).
- English language domain.
- French (valued).
- Availability for national and international travels.
