Job Description
Would you like to be at the forefront of our latest Power-to-X projects? Does it motivate you to be on the frontline of the renewable energy business? Then come and join us!
European Energy is a green energy company experiencing exponential growth. We develop, construct, and operate wind and solar PV projects globally and are at the forefront of the emerging green Hydrogen/Power-to-X sectors. Our core values are the foundation of everything we do: In it together, Trust and Courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.
Your New Team
You will be joining European Energy UK Limited, which consists of 25 colleagues working principally from our office in Glasgow. We are a committed and motivated team where knowledge sharing, trust, and open dialogues describe the very core of our collaboration. You will interact with the other teams in the business, have numerous opportunities to define your role, and grow as a professional.
Your New Role
European Energy has focused on developing utility-scale solar projects in the UK. We also recently commenced operations at a hydrogen and e-methanol facility in Denmark. Now, with a strong pipeline of UK projects to build over the coming 3-5 years and a project shortlisted for HAR2 support, we would like to expand our hydrogen activities significantly. This creates an opportunity to join European Energy UK Limited’s business as a Power-to-X Project Developer, reporting directly to the Country Manager.
You will have a broad and varied range of responsibilities, from monitoring the market and policy development, supporting our origination and grid managers, to securing new opportunities, to leading project development activities through to the ready-to-build (RTB) stage, and securing hydrogen/e-methanol offtake opportunities.
We see projects through, and after consent has been achieved, you will encompass planning condition discharge, identify project risks, and support our in-house Engineering and Construction teams during the pre-construction and construction phases to ensure that projects are delivered according to planning consent until successful handover to our Asset Management team.
The ideal candidate will have a track record in handling UK-based renewable energy project development, managing various stakeholders, and driving development and commercial activities forward.
Areas of Responsibility
As the Power-to-X Project Developer, you will lead highly complex Power-to-X projects from early-stage development through to start of construction. Beyond classic project leadership, the role requires business development skills as you will play a key role in developing European Energy’s UK future Power-to-X project portfolio and be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing Power-to-X project opportunities, sources of CO2 and offtakers, in collaboration with both the local UK European Energy team and the Power-to-X head quarter functions.
More specifically, your daily tasks will include:
- QHSE – Support and contribute to a strong culture of safety; prioritize quality, health, safety & environment; ensure our QHSE values flow through all aspects of project identification and development.

- Permits – Oversee and coordinate permitting activities for Power-to-X projects, supported by local advisors and legal experts.
- Risk Management – Identify, monitor, assess, and manage all risks and issues with clear reporting, communication, and prioritization.
- Negotiation – Engage with various stakeholders and negotiate land agreements, leases, access and cable easements, and offtake agreements.
