At NexWafe, we are developing a pioneering process to produce silicon wafers with fewer process steps, resulting in significant savings in production costs, energy consumption and CO₂ emissions.

For our location in Freiburg in Breisgau, we are looking for a skilled Senior Engineer (m/f/d) to join our ProCon Engineering Team and help drive the transition from R&D to pilot production for our APCVD tool.

Your Mission

  • Lead the development and optimization of the APCVD pilot production tool and processes.
  • Plan, execute, and analyze experiments to improve process stability, yield, and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and continuously improve work instructions, SOPs, and documentation for pilot and production use.
  • Collaborate closely with the design engineering team to identify and implement machine improvements.
  • Interface with the characterization team to validate process results and drive data-based decision-making.
  • Work with the maintenance team to resolve technical issues across equipment and process levels.
  • Ensure alignment with safety, quality, and operational standards throughout development activities.

Your profile

  • Degree in Physics, Chemistry, or related field.
  • 6–8 years of industrial experience as a production engineer or R&D specialist.
  • Strong background in one or more deposition technologies: ALD, CVD, PECVD, epitaxy.
  • Clear and effective communication skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus.
