The Climate Reality Project was founded by former US Vice President Al Gore with a mission to catalyze a global solution to the climate crisis by making urgent action a necessity across every sector of society. We recruit, train, and mobilize people of all walks of life to work for just climate solutions that speed energy transition worldwide and open the door to a better tomorrow for us all.
Our global network totals more than 4.5 million people from more than 190 countries and territories. With 11 branches around the world, we support our trained Climate Reality Leaders and network. Our strategy is two-pronged: 1) grow the climate movement and build the political will necessary to adopt policy solutions through our signature trainings around the globe, and 2) harness our ever-expanding network in support of three key impact areas: reducing emissions, financing a just transition and promoting global climate leadership.

POSITION SUMMARY
The International Regional Organizer is responsible for coordination and support of three to four of The Climate Reality Project's international branches that may be updated from time to time based on mission need. This position supports Climate Reality's Field team to enhance a communications workflow within the region, develop branch capacity, provide program and technical support, support Climate Reality Leader engagement, and manage relationships, grants. The International Regional Organizer supports the Field Team in managing multiple projects as well as building cohesive and sustainable global systems/communities to grow public support in addressing the climate crisis.
Currently reporting to the Interim Global Field Deputy Director, the International Regional Organizer has no direct reports but coordinates very closely with other Regional Organizers on the Field team.
This position is within a union-represented collective bargaining unit, and specific terms and conditions of employment will be subject to a collective bargaining agreement between Climate Reality and the union.
This is a full time, non-exempt, hourly, benefits-eligible, hybrid position. The Climate Reality Project offers a flexible hybrid schedule, with staff working from our office in downtown Washington, DC at least two days per week to enable and encourage collaboration within and among teams. The salary for the role is $58,199-$59,362.98 USD per year.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In-Region and Cross Regional Branch Support
- Support annual branch grant strategy-setting process, in close coordination with Interim Global Field Deputy Director and other global Regional Organizers
- Build and maintain relationships with branches within the regions and identify opportunities to strengthen collaboration, communication, and learning
- Support branch programs and campaigns to achieve impact according to their annual strategies
- Connect Climate Reality branches and international partners
- Serve as the liaison between HQ and the branches, ensuring work is cohesive across branches and HQ
- Serve as point person for organizing region-specific content, facilitation, and logistics for virtual and/or in-person branch events or trainings
- Engage proactively with Climate Reality Leaders digitally via Climate Reality platforms, email, and external platforms where Climate Reality Leaders may be present such as social media, as well as serve as an engaged moderator for Field related channels on Reality Hub
Impact Measurement and Reporting
- Support and contribute to the development of strong data management practices, program metrics, and analysis
- Support the Interim Global Field Deputy Director and Campaigns and Field Senior Vice President with quarterly reports and periodic grant administration
- Identify and develop region-specific impact stories, particularly identifying those stories that fit together into a larger global campaign narrative
- Design curriculum to keep HQ staff informed about regional branch work, international climate policy, and regional implementations of global campaigns through presentations, quarterly report summaries, and other knowledge products as necessary
Field Team and Organizational Support
- Provide insight and collaborate on Climate Reality global campaigns and policy work
- Support branch integration within international trainings
- Manage an International Field Team Intern as needed
- Represent Global Field team and region on certain projects/campaigns
- Research to stay up to date on international climate news
- Attend other departments meetings
- Support and contribute to the ongoing improvement of our operations and enrichment of our culture, for example by serving on ad hoc or ongoing work groups, assisting with the onboarding and training of colleagues, and participating in efforts to assess, refine, and strengthen our culture and practices

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent organization skills and experience in organizing and prioritizing project sets based on substance, urgency, and capacity
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to tell a compelling story
- Self-organized with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- English language fluency required; Linguistic proficiency in an additional language of one of our branches is highly desired
- Experience with Salesforce or similar data management systems
- A dedication to solving the climate crisis
- A sense of humor, passion for change, and an eye towards innovation
- Authorization to work in the United States of America preferred
- Proficiency with Mac preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Travel occasionally to support international trainings and branch programs
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree-or at least 4 years of equivalent related experience
- Has between 2-3 years of global NGO work experience
- Lived experience in the cultures or diaspora of the Asia Pacific region is a plus
- Demonstrated knowledge of international issues and affairs, organizing communities, climate-change campaign tactics, and cultural diversity
- Understanding of basic organizational monitoring, and evaluation methods
