Job Description
At MG, we are redefining the engineering landscape with a strong commitment to environmental responsibility and social impact. While our core expertise lies in solar energy, we're expanding rapidly across Technology, Education, and Lifesciences, including agriculture and geophysics.
We specialize in developing innovative concepts, writing successful grant proposals, and managing impactful projects in collaboration with a global network of academic and industry partners. Join us and become part of a growing team driving sustainable change.
About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with expertise in CAD, CAM, CFD, and FEA to support the design, simulation, and optimization of advanced engineering systems within MG's R&D projects. The role involves developing mechanical and thermal models using tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, ANSYS, and COMSOL, and translating concepts into validated engineering solutions through simulation and analysis. You will collaborate with international academic and industrial partners, contribute to technical documentation and performance evaluation, and support sustainability-focused projects in areas such as renewable energy and thermal systems. This position is ideal for a motivated engineer interested in applied research, multidisciplinary collaboration, and real-world engineering impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and modify 3D CAD models using Creo and SolidWorks, supporting CAM simulations and prototyping.
- Conduct CFD and multiphysics simulations (fluid, thermal, structural) using ANSYS and COMSOL
- Run structural and thermal FEA to assess strength, deformation, and heat transfer
- Analyze simulation results and translate them into design improvements
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, and documentation
- Collaborate with international academic and industrial partners
- Contribute to Swedish, EU, and international research proposals in engineering, energy, and sustainability
What We're Looking For
- Mechanical Engineer with strong skills in design, thermal engineering, CFD, and FEA
- Hands-on experience with Creo, SolidWorks, ANSYS, and/or COMSOL
- Solid understanding of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and structural mechanics
- Experience with multiphysics modeling and technical reporting
- Strong analytical skills and clear communication in English
- Ability to work independently and in international, multidisciplinary teams
- Proactive, curious mindset with interest in sustainability and applied research
What We Offer
- A dynamic and inclusive work environment with real social and environmental impact
- Cross-sector learning and opportunities for growth
- Flexible working hours
Required Qualifications
- CAD / CAM: Creo Parametric/SolidWorks/inventor/Fusion 360
- CFD / FEA / Multiphysics: ANSYS (Fluent, Mechanical) / COMSOL Multiphysics
- Engineering Skills: CFD (fluid flow, heat transfer, CHT), Structural & thermal FEA, Mechanical design and system optimization
- Documentation & Reporting: MS Word/MS Excel/MS PowerPoint
- Language: English (professional working proficiency)
Meritorious Qualifications
- Advanced Simulation: Multiphysics coupling (thermal-fluid-structural), Parametric and optimization-based simulations
- Energy & Sustainability Tools: Simulation and design of renewable energy systems, Experience with solar thermal /PVT/HVAC systems
- Project & Research Exposure: Experience supporting EU, Swedish, or international R&D projects, Technical contribution to research proposals and reports
