If you are ready to make an impact and grow your career in a purpose-led organisation, your journey starts here.

The Team

Ireland's offshore grid programme is a critical national infrastructure initiative supporting the delivery of renewable electricity and the development of a secure, reliable offshore transmission system. Under the Phase 1 developer-led model, each Phase 1 Project will design and construct connection assets in accordance with the applicable connection offer, Offshore Connection Agreement (OCA), General Conditions, Contestable Pack and associated technical and regulatory requirements.

The OCA is the regulated contract suite governing the connection relationship, including project milestones, construction and commissioning obligations, programme governance, technical compliance, securities, payments, liability, insurance, change, default, termination and the transition to enduring operational arrangements. Its effective administration is therefore central to delivery certainty, protection of EirGrid and End User interests, and the creation of a clear contractual record for regulatory and commercial review.

The Opportunity

The Contract Manager, Phase 1 Offshore Connection Agreements will act as the portfolio-level OCA specialist and commercial lead across the Phase 1 Projects. Individual Project Managers will remain responsible for day-to-day project delivery. This role will provide them with consistent contract-management standards, specialist advice, training, milestone support and commercial challenge, while maintaining an integrated EirGrid position across all project-specific OCAs.

The Contract Manager will establish and operate a consistent contract-management framework for the project-specific Phase 1 OCAs, supporting the Project Managers who manage day-to-day deliverables and developer interfaces. The role is not intended to replace project accountability. It will provide the specialist contractual and commercial capability needed to interpret the OCA, prepare for key milestones, administer change, resolve contentious matters and protect the approved EirGrid position across the portfolio.

The successful candidate will combine strong contract administration with commercial judgement. They will understand how decisions taken during design, construction, commissioning and energisation can affect programme exposure, recoverability, liability, asset acceptance, future operations and the CRU Post Construction Review process. They will be able to distinguish a routine project decision from a material contractual departure, identify where precedent could be created across the portfolio, and bring forward clear options and recommendations for approval.

The role requires sufficient seniority and credibility to challenge developers, advisers and internal workstreams, while enabling practical delivery. It will create a centre of excellence for OCA implementation, including playbooks, training, standard notices, decision tools, change controls, commercial records and lessons learned.

About you

Essential

  • Degree-level qualification in commercial management, engineering, law, finance, business or a related discipline, with substantial relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Strong contract or commercial management experience across major energy, utilities, offshore wind or complex infrastructure programmes, including complex construction, connection, EPC or regulated agreements.
  • Expertise in contract administration, change control, claims, notices, programme impacts, risk allocation, negotiation and dispute avoidance, supported by sound commercial judgement on cost, schedule, liability and recoverability.
  • Ability to translate complex contractual requirements into practical delivery controls, governance recommendations and clear written records, while influencing stakeholders and supporting multiple projects consistently.

Desirable

  • Experience of transmission connections, offshore wind or regulated energy infrastructure, including the Irish electricity regulatory framework, CRU engagement, asset delivery, commissioning, energisation, transfer and regulated cost or asset-value review.
  • Relevant professional accreditation and experience managing contractual interfaces and structured contract-management systems, including change, claims, obligations and portfolio reporting tools.

We value potential as much as experience. If you believe you can succeed in this role, we encourage you to apply, even if you don't meet every requirement.

Présentation de l'entreprise

EirGrid Group

Dublin, Irlande

2006
