Job Description

Are you ready to lead the way in shaping a smarter, safer, and more sustainable energy future? As our Contract Manager, you'll champion Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement, driving transformation in how we deliver for millions of customers.

In this pivotal role, you'll design and implement strategies that enhance operational performance, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and unlock innovation across our network. From safety and sustainability to customer value and cutting-edge processes-your leadership will set the benchmark for excellence.

What you'll be doing

You will manage and oversee all aspects of third-party contracts to ensure compliance, performance, and value delivery while mitigating risks and maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Lifecycle Management: Draft, review, negotiate, and execute third-party agreements (vendors, service providers, subcontractors).
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to company policies, legal requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs, SLAs, and deliverables; escalate issues and enforce corrective actions.
  • Risk Management: Identify contractual risks, implement mitigation strategies, and manage disputes or claims.
  • Relationship Management: Act as the primary liaison between the company and third-party suppliers, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Change Control: Manage amendments, renewals, and terminations in line with business needs.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records, provide regular status reports, and support audits.

Data Quality & GIS Management

  • Develop and implement GIS data quality standards, validation rules, and workflows alongside Quality Manager.
  • Lead data cleansing, correction, and enhancement initiatives.
  • Ensure GIS data complies with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Support audits and regulatory reporting involving spatial data.
  • Day-to-day management of Onshore and Offshore Teams.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with Asset Management, IT, Framework Providers, and Operations teams.
  • Provide training and guidance on data quality standards and best practices.
  • Act as a point of contact for data quality queries and escalations.

What you'll bring

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Solid understanding of contract law and third-party risk management.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Analytical mindset for performance tracking and compliance.
  • Procurement experience.
  • Ability to interpret and apply GIS data for contract-related decisions.
  • Proficient in MS Office and database software.
  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Certification in GIS (e.g., Esri Technical Certification) or Data Governance (desirable).

As a minimum, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in data quality management, ideally within asset-intensive industries (utilities, infrastructure, transport).
  • Degree in Geography, Engineering, GIS, Data Science, or related field.
  • Ability to manage changing workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstratable leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across SPEN network area.
