Wärtsilä is expanding its Australian Energy Storage Business in response to Australia's transition towards a lower carbon emission energy market. We are looking for a Project Planner for a growing market in Australia. The position will report to the General Manager, Energy Storage Project Management and be based in Sydney, Australia. The work requires very limited travel to site locations and offices within Australia.

What you will be doing

You are a meticulous and organized individual responsible for managing and maintaining project schedules throughout project execution and the sales cycle. Your role ensures accuracy, quality, and compliance with company standards and procedures. This position is crucial for successful projects and requires a high level of attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Job Purpose

Contributes to project success by coordinating and planning project activities. You will support project management through detailed scheduling, resource allocation, and progress analysis to ensure project goals are met efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and plans project activities and execution, developing and refining project plans and schedules while ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  • Manages the project schedule model, ensuring schedule optimization, integration, communications and utilization. Monitors project progress, identifies deviations from the plans and schedules, updates schedules, and suggests corrective actions.
  • Provides status updates, forecasting, progress measurement, reporting, and analysis throughout the project execution.
  • Facilitates communication among project stakeholders to integrate and align schedules, maintain transparency and keep everyone informed of project status and changes.
  • Contributes to capacity and resource planning, working to optimize the use of personnel, materials, and equipment and to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Supports risk management activities, performing analysis on schedule risks, impact and project plan options, helping to identify potential issues and developing mitigation strategies for robust project execution.
  • Participates in the continuous improvement of project planning processes and tools, incorporating best practices and lessons learned.
  • Completes monthly reports for internal and external stakeholders.
