Job Description

Our procurement function is an integral part of our corporate functions which enables our business to sustainably and ethically procure the goods and services we need to provide clean energy to our customers. We know people are central to building a better future, quicker and we are seeking new talent to join our team.

What you'll be doing

Joining the Procurement team and reporting to a Category Manager with a focus on gaining competitive advantage and cost reductions in the acquisition of goods, works and services through the professional management of purchasing and supply chain activities. This includes the management of tender activity and the negotiation of contracts and associated commercial issues.

Working closely with the wider business to ensure that essential goods and services are available and assisting in the development of appropriate contracting strategies and negotiating one-off contracts and framework agreements that meet the required timescales and specifications and delivering targeted cost savings on behalf of the business unit.

You will be managing commercial and contractual activities both pre-contract and where appropriate post contract to ensure delivery of best value whilst meeting Iberdrola Group Procurement processes and ensuring that SP's requirements are sourced from suitable, ethical and sustainable sources of supply using appropriate contractual and commercial arrangements that fully consider the most appropriate risk allocation.

Providing advice in relation to sourcing and purchasing activities to all stakeholders and liaising with colleagues to ensure sharing of information and delivery of best value from a common supply chain and where appropriate, work with colleagues to ensure that the commercial risks associated with the procurement process are identified and understood and reflected in the appropriate technical and commercial documentation.

You will be responsible for the commercial and contractual aspects, with appropriate support from subject experts, for individual contracts ensuring strategies are aligned to the Business Plan and its timescales and management of annual portfolio of up to multiple contracts and high value accounts.

What you'll bring

You will already possess an understanding of best practice procurement principles, practices and processes including both tactical and strategic procurement principles and have experience of the full tendering process.

You will have experience negotiating with commercial acumen, and you enjoy leading full or part of the contract negotiations in conclusion of contracts and hold yourself to strong performance standards with a focus on delivery, balancing conflicting requirements of quality cost and time; making decisions in tight timescales flexibly to respond to changing needs.

You're a team player ideally with some experience of working in a multi-functional project team desirable and you're able to mitigate risks whilst tapping into your knowledge of contract law. You'll be a good communicator both written and verbal, with strong numeracy skills as well as being able to use technology, including excel, to your advantage.

Minimum Criteria

  • Educated to degree level in relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • Good understanding of Procurement best practices
  • Experience in end-to-end tender process
  • Confident using MS Excel for tender analysis
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
