We are on an amazing journey to decarbonise Marine and Energy with our customers around the globe. To support our journey, we are seeking for a Head of HR for Finland. The preferred location for the role is Helsinki, Finland, but Turku and Vaasa, Finland are also possible.

In this role you interact on daily basis with business stakeholders in and outside Finland. You secure seamless delivery of HR services to the organisation, collaborating with businesses, global functions and the other HR teams; Talent Acquisition, the People Support Hub, Business HR, the CoEs. You work with your peers abroad in the People Services Europe team. You are a member of the Wärtsilä Finland management team and are pivotal in the success of Wärtsilä in Finland and beyond.

Main tasks

  • You lead a team of 10 HR managers and payroll professionals, supporting employees and line managers
  • As a People Partner you advise and coach the Managing Directors of the local entities and the country management team
  • You contribute to local governance, drive local consultation processes, and contribute to managing organisational changes
  • You lead fair employment practices, ensuring compliance with local laws and legislation
  • You manage the local benefits agenda and support line management in the deployment of annual clock processes and performance management
  • You drive continuous improvement activities to enable Wärtsilä Finland to be on the leading edge
  • You drive local employer branding activities in collaboration with Talent Acquisition team

We are looking for someone who brings

  • A minimum of 15 years of HR experience in a complex global business environment
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience, with a proven track record of building engagement and fostering team development
  • Experience working within headquarter dynamics
  • Solid experience in driving transformation processes and engaging effectively with relevant stakeholders. You understand that consultation is about building trust and dialogue, in addition to compliance and negotiation.
  • A dedicated service mindset towards employees, line managers and internal stakeholders, combined with a hands-on approach, covering both managerial and operational tasks
  • Conceptual strength paired with a practical, solution-oriented mentality
  • Strong knowledge of Finnish employment legislation and ability to apply legal concepts to real-world situations
  • Fluency in Finnish and English; Swedish is considered an advantage
