Boralex has been providing renewable and affordable energy for over 30 years. The Group, composed of more than 800 employees, operates renewable assets with an installed capacity of over 3 GW and is developing a project portfolio of 6.8 GW in wind, solar, and energy storage.

The Project Engineer is responsible for handling and overseeing all technical coordination on projects in development between the different Boralex groups including development, procurement, engineering and project delivery. The position will focus on development support, preliminary engineering coordination, and detailed engineering design during the execution phase.

You will play an important role in

  • Responsible for engineering coordination with electrical, civil, SCADA, energy, environmental, procurement, and interconnection teams to guarantee the coherent integration of electrical systems throughout the project.
  • Coordinate required deliverables and estimate the efforts needed to assign them to the appropriate resources (internal or external) and/or to partially produce them.
  • Monitor progress and validate the technical quality of these deliverables.
  • Select, oversee, and challenge engineering firms to ensure a result that meets expectations in terms of quality, budget, and timelines.
  • Provide the necessary technical content for permit applications (interconnection, connections, substations) in line with the requirements of local authorities and grid operators.
  • Support procurement and construction teams for technical analyses of bids, clarification with suppliers, and technical follow-up during the execution phase.
  • Ensure technological monitoring in one's field of activity.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the department and ensure knowledge sharing.
  • Attend recurring meetings between internal Boralex team members, EPC and EORs

To succeed in this position, you need

  • University diploma in electrical (preferred) civil or mechanical engineering. Member of a professional order is a plus. Additional training in management is an advantage (CAPM, PMP, MBA, master's in engineering management).
  • Over 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in renewable energy projects (wind, solar, storage, BESS, collector networks, lift stations).
  • Ability to progress in concrete projects, to anticipate technical problems, and to connect engineering with site or operational reality.
  • Manage multiple stakeholders, coordinate parallel activities, and handle pressure on deadlines/deliveries.
  • Simplify and summarize technical details.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering document management standards for assigned projects.
  • Experience reviewing civil, structural or electrical engineering design packages.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft series, including MS Project.
