Boralex has been providing renewable and affordable energy for over 30 years. The Group, composed of more than 800 employees, operates renewable assets with an installed capacity of over 3 GW and is developing a project portfolio of 6.8 GW in wind, solar, and energy storage.

As part of the construction of the Oxford Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project, a major 125‑megawatt project providing 500 MWh storage capacity, Boralex is seeking an Intern -Electrical Site Coordinator.

You will play an important role in

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing the electrical work for the Oxford BESS Project, located in Woodstock, Ontario. As part of the construction activities for the Oxford BESS project, your responsibilities will include:

  • Effectively manage construction work, focused on safety, quality and the environment;
  • Ensure implementation of the contractor's safety program on the worksite through weekly inspections, etc. Follow up on required corrective measures related to OHS observations;
  • Master the contractual and technical documentation related to the construction sector you will be coordinating;
  • Conduct regular inspections and monitor activities related to the construction of the BESS project;
  • Participate in the creation, implementation, and application of a quality audit program. Manage non‑conformities and implement corrective measures;
  • Maintain communication with contractors to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, environmental requirements, cost control, quality assurance, and project schedule;
  • Approve contractor invoicing and assess the validity of change orders based on contractual documentation;
  • Evaluate contractor productivity based on site data, project budget, and schedule;
  • Manage communications with stakeholders in your sector;
  • Participate in drafting and reviewing required reports related to all work activities, such as progress reports, procurement tracking, materials receiving, extra work, property and environmental damages, technical deficiencies, requests for information (RFIs), and reports related to quality system procedures;
  • Obtain certificates of completion for work within reasonable timelines;
  • Ensure the project complies with legal and regulatory approvals, the environmental management plan, and all project‑related permits;
  • Audit contractor work according to plans and specifications;
  • Actively participate in site meetings.

To succeed in this position, you need

  • Be in the process of obtaining a bachelor degree in electrical engineering;
  • Strong interest in construction site supervision;
  • Work experience in BESS or substation construction is an asset;
  • Ability to report and document information accurately and on time;
  • Quick learner capable of meeting tight deadlines;
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills; autonomous, rigorous, and results‑oriented;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities effectively;
  • Excellent knowledge of the MS Office Suite;
  • Valid driver's licence.

This position requires presence on the construction site; work hours will be discussed.
