Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our accounting team in Aachen. In this role, you'll play a key part in the financial operations of our German and Swiss entities, with a focus on bookkeeping, payments, invoice processing, and ensuring compliance with VAT regulations. Your work will directly support Volue's mission and contribute to an efficient and transparent financial environment.

What you will be doing to make a difference

• Handle daily bookkeeping and process invoices using our ERP system.
• Manage and execute supplier payments.
• Review and classify employee expense reports.
• Maintain clear, audit-ready financial records.
• Conduct account reconciliations and manage currency adjustments.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and internal reports.
• Take ownership of VAT pre-filing and EU sales reporting.
• Collaborate closely with tax advisors and cross-functional colleagues.
• Respond to accounting queries with professionalism and accuracy.
• Ensure high-quality data entry and compliance in our ERP software.
• Contribute to improving financial workflows and processes.

What you need to succeed

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in accounting, ideally within a group structure.
• Solid knowledge of HGB and familiarity with IFRS standards.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail, an analytical mindset, and a solutions-focused approach.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Fluency in German and English (written and spoken); additional languages are welcome.

This is a full-time position (40h), reporting to the Accounting Manager and to be based in our office in Aachen.
