Job Description
The Associate Project Engineer, Electrical will serve to assist in providing renewable energy project electrical engineering design reviews to support the advisory team. The role will also contribute to other aspects of the technical review of renewable energy projects and portfolios for investors, financing parties, developers, and project owners.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to technical aspects of advisory project engagements with specific focus on electrical engineering and interconnection reviews.
- Lead and contribute to writing and review of due diligence and independent engineering reports.
- Review electrical design drawings and studies for code compliance, industry standards, and project requirements.
- Assess interconnection requirements, including network upgrades, costs, curtailment risks, delivery terms, and termination conditions.
- Evaluate electrical completion documentation (QA/QC records, testing plans/results, commissioning procedures, equipment reports).
- Conduct site visits for wind, solar, and energy storage projects across development, construction, and operational phases.
- Responsible for the on-time, on-quality and on-budget delivery of assigned tasks.
- When supporting projects, ensure appropriate feedback is provided to the project manager on project budgets upon completion of tasks.
- Provide clear technical advice and communicate complex issues to clients.
- Demonstrate excellent
- Develop and present thought leadership materials at conferences and webinars.
- Monitor market trends to identify and support business development opportunities.
- Advise clients on optimal strategies to achieve project objectives.
- Travel up to 20% as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent in relevant technical field.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Educational background with electrical focus preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in renewable energy preferred.
Compensation for this role ranges from $75,000 to $90,000 annually, with flexibility based on your experience, skills, and unique contributions.
