Our core services comprise civil works, trenching, cable installation, electrical and mechanical installations, terminations, testing, commissioning (DC, LV, HV), operations support and maintenance expertise. Position Overview
AEC is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our growing team. In this key role, you will take charge of developing comprehensive estimates for multi-disciplinary renewable energy and power infrastructure projects, including solar farms, wind farms, battery storage systems, and hybrid energy projects. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of accurate, detailed estimates for large-scale renewable energy and power infrastructure projects.
- Develop and execute estimating strategies that align with company goals and project delivery objectives, ensuring consistency and precision in all cost estimates.
- Review and negotiate offers from subcontractors, suppliers, and partners to ensure competitive, robust and cost-effective project solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, suppliers, design consultants, and strategic partners.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to gather data on labour, materials, and productivity, ensuring comprehensive project estimates.
- Ensure all estimates reflect project scope, including constructability, schedule, safety, and risk management considerations.
- Prepare and present detailed cost reports, project summaries, tender/bid reviews and feasibility presentations for internal stakeholders and clients, highlighting budget adherence, cost-saving strategies, and innovative approaches.
Required Skills & Experience
- Extensive career experience as a Senior Estimator, with demonstrated longevity in the role.
- Strong multi-disciplinary knowledge of power system installations, including civil and electrical works.
- Proven experience estimating for large-scale infrastructure projects valued between $5M and $150M.
- Ability to mentor and collaborate with a diverse team of professionals.
- Solid understanding of financial principles and project management practices.
- A collaborative mindset and passion for delivering successful project outcomes in a team-oriented environment.
