Job Description
All Energy Contracting (AEC) is a leading construction contractor specialising in the energy and renewable energy sector, including solar, wind, storage, and hybrid facilities. Our core services comprise civil works, trenching, cable installation, electrical and mechanical installations, terminations, testing, commissioning (DC, LV, HV), operations support and maintenance expertise. Position Overview
AEC is looking for a proactive Project HSE Advisor on a casual contract with a 3-in-1 roster to assist in implementing and monitoring HSE plans and procedures across our sites. You will support the Project Manager & team in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, while promoting a safe and compliant work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively address and anticipate HSE issues, ensuring effective communication with project personnel and participation in site meetings.
- Ensure HSE plans, policies, and systems are accessible and effectively used to meet project HSE objectives.
- Maintain up-to-date HSE records, reports, and risk registers, ensuring compliance with site-specific and legislative requirements.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, adjusting plans to address compliance gaps.
- Ensure safe movement of materials, equipment, and personnel, adhering to HSE standards.
- Promote safety controls, report incidents, and ensure compliance with AEC's Incident Management Procedure.
- Take immediate action on reported hazards, implementing and reviewing controls as necessary.
- Enforce safety standards and foster a safety-first culture through training, hazard reporting, and corrective actions.
- Assist in delivering HSE training and toolbox talks, ensuring personnel meet regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, HSE management systems, and maintain professionalism in all HSE matters.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, driving innovation and excellence in safety practices.
Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years of HSE experience in the renewable energy sector, preferably in solar or wind energy projects.
- Experience in monitoring and implementing HSE policies and procedures on-site.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and their application on construction sites.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams and report to the Project Manager with the support from the HSEQ Manager.
- Ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and take proactive measures to ensure site safety.
- Knowledge of incident investigation techniques and reporting requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Construction Induction Card (White Card) and Open Driver's License.
- Ability to pass a medical examination as required by clients.
- Proof of working rights in Australia or New Zealand
- Ability to travel and work on projects around Australia, this role is based on Fly in Fly out (FiFo).
