As an Operations Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for management of the Substation & BOP Electrical Maintenance program for Invenergy's operating fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Manage substation and balance of plant electrical maintenance program, including NERC-required/NETA-recommended testing and inspections.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external maintenance contractors all details to successfully complete routine, planned maintenance scopes.
  • Coordinate completion of open maintenance items, and work with regional Operations Electrical Engineers to carry out additional scope.
  • Oversee the integration of PowerDB for managing electrical test records.
  • Maintain relationships with existing pool of maintenance contractors. Work with Procurement team to develop new contractor relationships.
  • Work with NERC Compliance Team/Lead to ensure maintenance program aligns with NERC requirements.
  • Review equipment maintenance and testing reports to ensure operational safety, asset reliability and adherence to regulatory compliance standards.
  • Review testing requirements of third-party sites and adapt internal programs to fit new customer needs.
  • Work with Project Development team to ensure test records from new projects are turned over to operations.
  • Travel to sites and oversee contractor testing, and help train new engineers.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or similar major.
  • 3-5+ years of work experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Some travel is required (< 25 %).
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of three-phase power systems, high voltage electrical equipment. Basic understanding of protective relaying concepts.
  • Practical or field experience in electrical substation testing and interpreting test results; Prior experience with various substation equipment test sets is a plus.
  • In depth knowledge of NESC, NERC and ANSI/IEEE standards and codes.
  • Experience with renewable generation systems (wind turbines, solar panels/inverters, battery storage) and associated control systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Experience with PowerDB.

Base Pay

$105,000.00 - $130,000.00 USD Annual
Bonus: 20% - 30%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
