We are looking for an experienced Lead Technician to take ownership of turbine maintenance and operational performance at a designated wind farm within our North Scotland Hub.

This is a key leadership position, combining hands-on technical expertise with responsibility for supervising a team of Wind Turbine Technicians and ensuring site performance, safety and client satisfaction.

What You'll Be Responsible For

You will oversee and be accountable for all turbine maintenance and operational activities on site, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule and to the highest standards.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, supervise and motivate a team of technicians
  • Monitor performance and provide coaching and development
  • Organise and deliver on-site training where required

Technical & Operational Delivery

  • Carry out and oversee turbine servicing, fault finding and rectification
  • Ensure maintenance activities maximise turbine performance and availability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues
  • Utilise maintenance management systems and planning tools

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure full compliance with Wind Turbine Safety Rules and company policies
  • Maintain high standards of quality control
  • Act as site representative in the absence of the Hub Operations Manager
  • Manage subcontractors operating on site

Reporting & Stakeholder Management

  • Prepare regular reports on maintenance activity and site performance
  • Liaise with clients to maintain strong working relationships
  • Oversee spare parts and inventory management
  • Use SCADA systems to extract and interpret performance data

About You

We're looking for a proactive, confident and technically strong individual who leads by example and thrives in a hands-on operational environment.

Essential

  • Extensive experience working directly on Siemens 2.3MW wind turbines, with full confidence in maintenance and rectification
  • Previous turbine maintenance supervision experience
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills (mechanical, hydraulic or electrical discipline)
  • Authorised Technician under Wind Turbine Safety Rules
  • Educated to Standard Grade/National 5 level (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Previous experience as an Authorising Engineer
  • Experience using maintenance planning systems
  • Ability to manipulate and interpret SCADA data
