The Opportunity

As a Senior SCADA Engineer, you'll support and improve our operational technologies across wind, solar, storage and private networks. You'll help guide engineering decisions, solve problems and keep our systems safe, secure and performing well every day.

Alongside a competitive salary and potential for an annual bonus, this role is a hybrid role based in our #London office, from home and with travel to other sites for meetings and operational support as and when required. You'll balance site-based activity with remote collaboration across the UK and overseas.

You'll continue building your technical strengths while supporting a small engineering team. Working with specialists across the business, you'll help shape solutions that enhance safety, reliability, performance and cyber security across our diverse portfolio.

Who You Are

We're looking for a Senior SCADA Engineer who communicates clearly, supports others and enjoys working in a diverse operational environment. You're confident prioritising your workload and that of your small team solving challenges in real time. To be shortlisted, you need to offer...

  • Ability to autonomously prioritise workload to meet operational requirements for yourself and a small team of engineers
  • Strong commitment to Health, Safety and Quality
  • Comfortable communicating at a variety of levels in an appropriate level of detail
  • Excellent at building relationships with external partners and stakeholders
  • Flexible to travel around the UK and overseas as the role requires
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Minimum of HNC/HND in a related engineering discipline
  • Experience interpreting and producing documentation such as wiring diagrams, P&IDs, single line diagrams, network diagrams, datasheets, asset registers, cable schedules and design specifications
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting SCADA systems and PLC‑based assets
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial communication protocols
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial networks
  • Experience managing OEMs and contractors, including setting to work
  • Working knowledge of SCADA software packages
  • Working knowledge of historian or database packages
  • Basic awareness of industrial cyber security requirements

What You'll Be Doing

  • Acting as the SCADA subject‑matter expert for a range of operational assets across multiple technologies
  • Leading improvement activity, challenging existing processes and identifying effective alternatives
  • Supporting engineering upgrades, maintenance and retrofit activities across technologies
  • Reviewing technical proposals and costings to maintain alignment with standards and industry best practice
  • Ensuring cyber security is maintained and risks are identified and addressed
  • React to Operational issues quickly and efficiently to help maintain generation and reduce revenue losses.
