Company Overview

InRange Ltd

London, United Kingdom

2021

Employee count is not specified in available records, and no public revenue figures for 2023 or later are disclosed (source: find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk).

What They Do

InRange specializes in rooftop solar solutions for commercial and industrial buildings, leveraging an AI-powered enterprise renewable energy marketplace. This innovative platform identifies viable rooftop sites, automates procurement processes, and matches surplus energy supply with nearby demand, particularly targeting data centers (source: inrange.io; lowercarbon.com). By streamlining installation processes, InRange enables property owners to up-size solar arrays beyond their on-site energy needs, allowing them to generate excess power for sale through a marketplace that guarantees 10-year fixed export tariffs. This approach not only reduces soft costs like permitting and financing but also unlocks over £100 million in credit facilities for 25-year asset operations (source: inrange.io; youtube.com). The company aims to make 67% of UK rooftops viable for solar energy, significantly disrupting the low penetration of solar installations in commercial rooftops globally (source: lowercarbon.com; youtube.com). Their unique selling propositions include AI-driven matching for local decarbonization, network effects that lead to cheaper energy, and financing options that enhance property values without upfront costs for tenants, positioning InRange ahead of traditional utility-scale projects (source: climatebase.org; lowercarbon.com).

Projects & Track Record

A notable project for InRange is its partnership with UK retailer The Range, initiated in 2023, which aims to convert 4.2 million square feet of warehouse rooftops into a 40 MW solar power plant network across over 200 UK stores. This initiative not only facilitates on-site energy use but also promises bill reductions of at least 25% and enables surplus energy sales to the wider market (source: greenretail.world; solarenergyuk.org). While specific details on other completed projects are limited, InRange has secured partnerships with major UK retailers and data centers, focusing on expanding rooftop solar installations for logistics facilities (source: youtube.com). The company’s geographic focus remains primarily in the UK, with aspirations for regulatory navigation and expansion into European and North American markets (source: youtube.com). Key clients include The Range, and partnerships emphasize collaboration with energy teams of large tenants (source: solarenergyuk.org; youtube.com).

Recent Developments

InRange has made significant strides in the last two years, particularly with its April 2024 partnership with The Range, which aims to accelerate solar deployment and transform warehouses into energy networks (source: greenretail.world). The company has successfully unlocked over £100 million in credit facilities to finance these rollouts, as highlighted by CEO John Mushriqui (source: youtube.com). While there are no public records of acquisitions, mergers, or major funding rounds, InRange has received backing from Lowercarbon Capital, although details of the funding rounds remain undisclosed (source: lowercarbon.com). Additionally, the company filed accounts up to December 31, 2024, and launched InRange Energy Assets Holdco Ltd in 2025 to facilitate project scaling (source: find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk; find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk).

Working There

InRange is actively hiring across various roles, including engineering, product development, and business development, to support the growth of its platform and energy marketplace. The company emphasizes the high impact that early hires can have within a rapidly expanding team (source: climatebase.org; lowercarbon.com). Most open positions are based at their London headquarters, and the company is noted for its rapid and conscious hiring practices, although specific remote work options or other office locations are not detailed (source: climatebase.org; linkedin.com). The company culture is described as cohesive and high-performing, fostering a respectful environment where new hires can significantly influence principles and practices. Leadership includes CEO John Mushriqui, a four-time founder with a history of scaling businesses, and VP Engineering Thomas Harvey, who previously worked at OhmConnect (source: climatebase.org; lowercarbon.com). No specific employee benefits are documented in the available sources.
