You will play an important role in

As a civil engineering team leader, you will be responsible for managing a team of civil engineers and technicians assigned to projects in the development and construction phases. You and your team will be responsible for providing technical advice and support for the various civil and structural requirements throughout renewable energy projects (wind, solar, storage, substations, and transmission lines).Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of civil and structural engineers.
  • Conduct and oversee civil and structural engineering studies and designs for projects in development or under construction.
  • Conduct civil and structural design reviews (roads, platforms, foundations, buildings, electrical substations, transmission lines).
  • Ensure the smooth execution of assignments entrusted to the team to guarantee technical compliance and the success of the company's projects.
  • Serve as the technical expert and primary point of contact for civil and structural issues.
  • Support and establish smooth communication with the project team.
  • Contribute to the development of team members while ensuring alignment with the company's needs.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of internal engineering standards and promote engineering best practices, technical quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the department and monitor market trends and technologies

To succeed in this position, you need

  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction engineering and membership in the OIQ.
  • Recognized leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • The ability to make critical technical decisions in complex environments.
  • A strong sense of responsibility, quality, and risk management.
  • At least eight (8) years of relevant experience, including significant experience in renewable energy, energy infrastructure, or industrial projects.
  • Solid expertise in civil and structural design: roads, platforms, foundations, concrete and steel structures.
  • Good knowledge of geotechnical studies, hydrology/drainage, and earthworks.
  • Experience with electrical substations, transmission lines, and energy infrastructure (strong asset).
  • Experience in estimating construction project costs and in the development of major renewable energy projects.
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written. Fluency in English is required to collaborate daily with teams and partners based outside Quebec.
  • Ability to make difficult decisions under pressure.
  • Demonstrate initiative and autonomy in carrying out your own and your team's assignments.
  • Be available for occasional travel within Canada and to the United States.
