Job Description
In this role you will work closely with Front Office (Trading/Origination), analysts/quants, Middle/Back Office, Risk Management and IT to deliver a structured, comprehensive product offering across Alpiq's value chains through streamlined, effective processes.
Your main responsibilities
- Handle and coordinate technology changes impacting Trading & Origination (systems, interfaces, workflows, data)
- Coordinate changes to existing products and their implementation, ensuring accurate deal representation and robust end-to-end processing
- Support and/or manage product life cycle activities from a functional perspective, including product design inputs, approval and phase-out processes for standard products and support for structured products
- Become the functional knowledge expert on core systems, products and processes
- Start and own an initiative for Post-Trade Monitoring to verify new product implementations after go-live
- Create and implement a process, KPI and control framework to monitor the success, stability and operational readiness of new products post-launch, including exception management and structured feedback loops into product/process improvements
Your profile
- Minimum 3 years of proven work experience in the energy trading domain (physical and financial power and/or gas), in a trading house, utility or energy consulting firm; ideally in the role of a Business Analyst or withing product management
- In-depth knowledge of front-to-back, end-to-end processes involved in trading financial and physical power and gas in the European energy market
- Strong understanding of standard energy products and energy structured products
- Project management experience in projects involving stakeholders from different business areas
- Master's degree and a strong, all-round knowledge of IT and software integration/development
- Highly collaborative: able to build relationships with traders, originators, quants, Risk, IT and other stakeholders
- Key required skills: an analytic and structured thinker, result-oriented, organized and attentive to detail with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Additional relevant strengths: international mindset, determination, resilience and team spirit
- Languages: full proficiency in English; any other language is an advantage
