ZX Measurement Services, a subsidiary to the industry leading Lidar provider - ZX Lidars.
We are a specialist measurement services provider in the Renewable Energy Sector leading the market in the provision of ZX 300 Lidar rental, power supply design, system operation, turnkey measurement services including meteorological mast installation services.
Working alongside ZX Lidars who are pioneering the use of laser anemometry in the wind energy sector, we are driving down costs and lead times for new wind farms and helping turbine manufacturers to monitor and improve the performance of turbines in the field. Our technology is particularly suited to marine applications where ZX Lidars are responsible for a significant number of wind measurements offshore, in support of offshore wind farm development. ZX Measurement Services is actively driving expansion into the meteorological mast industry, building on its established position as a trusted provider of high-quality wind measurement services. By leveraging deep technical expertise and proven delivery frameworks already in place for wind resource measurement, the business is extending its service offering to include the full lifecycle of met mast projects. This expansion enables ZX Measurement Services to provide clients with a complementary, integrated measurement solution alongside remote sensing technologies, supporting accurate, bankable wind data for onshore wind development while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and technical compliance.
ZX Measurement Services are currently looking for a driven and ambitious Mast Engineer (Service Lead) to join the team based in Blantyre, Glasgow. The purpose of this role is to support the Senior Management Team in the development and delivery of a commercially robust meteorological masting service. As an experienced masting professional, you will take responsibility for the planning and execution of meteorological mast site surveys, installations, inspections and maintenance activities, working closely with the instrumentation and Project Management teams to deliver associated services.
The position requires a strong technical foundation and proven practical experience across all aspects of meteorological mast delivery, including:
- A comprehensive understanding of wind resource measurement principles and applicable industry standards, including IEC and MEASNET
- Proven ability to interpret and work from technical drawings, specifications and site layout plans
- Demonstrated experience in the installation and ongoing maintenance of guyed lattice and tubular meteorological masts
- Competence in structural inspection, guy tensioning and verification of guyed lattice and tubular mast integrity
- Strong technical report writing skills, including inspection reports, installation records and compliance documentation
- Experience working within the CDM Regulations, including awareness of designer and contractor responsibilities and site safety management
This is a permanent full-time role, working 35 hours per week. The preferred location is at our office in Blantyre (Glasgow, G72 0AD) however we are open to hybrid/remote work with frequent offsite work required to fulfil the role, i.e. met mast site surveys, installation and maintenance visits.
