Job Description

Peak Energy is wholly owned by Stonepeak, one of the world's largest alternative investment firms specializing in infrastructure and real assets, with over USD 84 billion in assets under management. This financial strength, combined with our deep local market relationships, allows us to optimize capital deployment into high-quality assets.

With over 300 MW of operating assets and 1 GW of projects in development across Japan, Korea, Australia, Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia. We are greenfield developers at heart, but we also partner flexibly with industrials, developers, and investors to accelerate delivery and scale impact.

Backed by Stonepeak, we combine the customer focus of a developer, the technical expertise of an EPC and the financial strength of a heavyweight institution - enabling clients to meet decarbonisation targets on time, on budget, and without risk of delivery failure.

Our clients can expect clean energy solutions delivered on time, on budget, and at scale - with no surprises. Let's partner together to support your sustainability journey.

Role Overview

As Senior Grid and Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bringing utility-scale clean energy projects from concept to grid energization across the Philippines. You will lead early-stage grid connection assessments, challenge and validate system impact and facilities studies, and steer interconnection coordination with NGCP and distribution utilities through testing, commissioning, and CATC issuance. Working closely with project development, EPC, and external stakeholders, you will optimize substation and transmission line specifications, provide technical input to permitting and regulatory submissions, and stay ahead of evolving grid and market dynamics-using data-driven insights (including WESM analysis) to shape site selection and development strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preliminary grid connection assessments and recommend optimal interconnection schemes; prepare concise grid assessment reports.
  • Review System Impact and Facilities Studies to validate assumptions, identify constraints, and assess grid risks.
  • Prepare and consolidate interconnection requirements with NGCP and DUs, and lead coordination through testing, commissioning, energization, and CATC issuance.
  • Provide technical input for permitting and regulatory submissions.
  • Monitor grid and energy sector developments and regulatory issuances from NGCP, DUs, DOE, ERC, and WESM. Extract and analyze WESM data to inform project development strategy and site selection decisions.
  • Review and optimize electrical equipment specifications for substations and transmission lines to align with technical and commercial objectives.
  • Support construction activities by reviewing detailed EPC designs and overseeing installation, testing, and commissioning of substation and transmission line works in accordance with project requirements, grid codes, and applicable standards.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces with internal teams and external stakeholders and participate in project development meetings.
  • Conduct site visits to pre-development, ongoing and operational projects to provide technical support and supervise contractor execution in line with approved designs and contract specifications.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Licensed Electrical Engineer.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the power industry, including exposure to substation, transmission line, and renewable energy projects.
  • Sound understanding of grid connection processes, including coordination with NGCP and distribution utilities for permitting, interconnection applications, energization, and grid compliance testing.
  • Working proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Background in power system analysis, substation and transmission line design.
  • Good understanding of power system analysis tools such as PSS®E, ETAP, PLS-CADD, or equivalent software, with the ability to interpret study results and technical reports.
  • Knowledgeable in QA/QC and HSE practices in construction environments.
