Burn Manufacturing is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Commercial Project Officer to support the implementation and scale-up of commercial projects within the Electric B2C Business Unit.

This role is instrumental in coordinating market-entry activities, piloting and scaling new distribution and sales models, and ensuring cross-functional alignment throughout the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with the Commercial Project Manager and interface with multiple internal departments to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project & Programme Implementation:
    • Support the end-to-end implementation of commercial projects and programmes across current electric B2C markets.
    • Assist in the planning, coordination, and tracking of project activities to ensure delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.
    • Monitor project progress and flag risks or delays for timely mitigation.
    • Maintain up-to-date project documentation including plans, trackers, and implementation records.
  • New Market Entry:
    • Coordinate all tasks related to new market entry, including logistics, regulatory requirements, and operational readiness.
    • Ensure inter-departmental alignment so that all functions are prepared ahead of market launch dates.
    • Track and report on market entry milestones, escalating any risks that may affect rollout timelines.
  • Sales & Distribution Model Support:
    • Support the piloting and scale-up of new sales and distribution models across electric markets.
    • Ensure sales pilots are aligned with specific market requirements and customer needs.
    • Coordinate with relevant internal teams to facilitate timely scale-up of successful pilots.
  • Stakeholder Coordination:
    • Liaise with internal departments including Operations, Finance, Marketing, Carbon, and Supply Chain to ensure projects receive the required cross-functional support.
    • Engage external stakeholders such as distributors, partners, donors, and in-country teams as required to support project delivery.
    • Facilitate inter-departmental meetings, track action items, and follow up to ensure commitments are met.
  • Reporting & Communication:
    • Prepare regular project status reports covering progress, completion rates, risks, and mitigations.
    • Maintain project dashboards and trackers that provide clear visibility into the status of all ongoing initiatives.
    • Communicate project updates clearly to internal stakeholders and senior management as required.
  • Budgeting & Financial Monitoring:
    • Assist in the preparation of project budgets and ensure expenditure is tracked against approved allocations.
    • Flag budget variances and work with relevant teams to recommend corrective action where required.
  • Data Analysis & Insights:
    • Conduct data analysis to support project decision-making, performance measurement, and commercial strategy.
    • Prepare data summaries, reports, and visualizations as required by the team.
  • Sales Team & Carbon Compliance Support:
    • Provide operational support to in-market sales teams, including onboarding assistance for new markets.
    • Support carbon compliance activities for electric markets, including data collection, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Ad Hoc Support:
    • Take on additional tasks and projects as directed by the Commercial Project Manager or senior leadership.
    • Contribute to the improvement of project management processes, tools, and templates within the team.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Project Management, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in project coordination, commercial operations, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as ClickUp, Asana, Smartsheet, or MS Project.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and presentations.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
  • Background in clean cooking or the renewable energy industry.
  • Experience working in or supporting sales and commercial teams.
