The Head of Operational Excellence will lead continuous improvement and optimisation initiatives across the company's European renewable energy portfolio, with a focus on operational performance, cost efficiency, scalability, and standardisation. This role works transversally across Operations, Asset Management, Engineering, and O&M, driving operational standards, contractor governance, and performance frameworks, while ensuring lessons learned from operations are embedded into future project design and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead optimization of operational contracts, including O&M agreements, security services, and SCADA/communication scopes.
  • Drive contractor consolidation and standardization strategies to improve service quality and achieve economies of scale.
  • Define owner's operational requirements, contractual KPIs, and performance scorecards.
  • Support and lead European-level RFP processes, including technical specifications, benchmarking, and negotiations.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, identify underperformance trends, and drive corrective and preventive actions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Integrate operational lessons learned into engineering standards, project design, component selection, and operational accessibility requirements.
  • Promote operational safety, compliance, and risk mitigation in collaboration with HSE, Quality, and contractors.
  • Identify opportunities for OPEX reduction and operational efficiency improvements across regions and technologies.
  • Define and implement company-wide operational standards, procedures, and digital tools.
  • Support onboarding and integration of new assets into the operational portfolio.
  • Act as a central coordination point between Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Legal, and O&M teams

Requirements

  • Strong technical background in renewable energy operations, particularly Solar PV and BESS, or comparable industrial O&M environments.
  • Experience managing OEM contracts, LTSA agreements, SCADA/communication systems, and operational service providers.
  • Proven experience in operational excellence, process improvement, contractor management, and cost optimization.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate operational data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, international, and matrix-managed environment.
