Growing the agreements business is a strategic focus area at Wärtsilä. To succeed, we must consistently fulfil our commitments to customers in all agreed contractual aspects.

We are now looking for a (Senior) Technical Quality Manager to join the Performance Services team in a global role. In this position, you will proactively support contract teams across the Business Unit and act as a key technical quality counterpart when collaborating with internal stakeholders such as Field Service (FS), Technical Support (TS), R&D, and Warranty.

You will actively monitor and share information on ongoing technical issues and developments, ensuring that proactive actions are prioritised and that any required reactive actions are initiated without delay. You will follow up on action progress to ensure fast resolution and prioritisation of agreement installations. The role also includes representing Performance Services in various quality forums and engaging directly with customers on technical matters.

Depending on your experience, the role can be offered as Senior Technical Quality Manager or Technical Quality Manager.

The preferred locations for this position are Vaasa, Turku or Trieste, but other locations may be negotiable. We offer the possibility of hybrid working.

Your role and responsibilities

As a (Senior) Technical Quality Manager, your work will include:

  • Acting as an expert in technical quality matters and proactively supporting functions within the Business Unit
  • Identifying, analysing, and addressing safety, quality, and environmental deviations through data analysis, reporting, and recommendations
  • Securing timely and effective resolution of customer issues and ensuring proper follow-up
  • Ensuring thorough investigation and root-cause analysis of technical issues impacting agreement installations
  • Implementing and following up on preventive and corrective actions and improvement programmes
  • Owning the Business Unit non-conformity process, including development, case follow-up, reporting, and analysis
  • Participating in Business Unit and cross-Business Unit development initiatives
  • Driving and facilitating quality-related continuous improvement activities
  • Representing Performance Services in the Quality Transformation programme

Requirements for the position

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with Wärtsilä 4-stroke engine technology
  • Strong engineering or mechanical background with deep technical knowledge of 4-stroke engines
  • Proven technical leadership skills, with the ability to identify and quantify quality-related issues and coordinate with internal teams to resolve customer issues, claims, and technical queries
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
