What They Do
Alight specializes in solar photovoltaic (PV) technology, focusing on both onsite rooftop installations and offsite ground-mounted solar parks. The company integrates battery energy storage systems (BESS) to enhance grid stability and optimize energy usage during non-production periods, such as nights or outages (source: alight-energy.com). Their core offerings include long-term, subsidy-free power purchase agreements (PPAs) that provide businesses with fixed, low-cost clean electricity, either behind-the-meter onsite or via grid-supplied offsite power (source: alight-energy.com). Target markets encompass energy-intensive commercial and industrial customers across Europe, including large corporations and state-owned entities, with a strong presence in the Nordics and expanding operations into Finland, Denmark, Spain, France, the UK, and Germany (source: alight-energy.com). Alight is recognized as the leading Nordic PPA provider, with over 1 GW in development in the Nordics and a goal of achieving 5 GW capacity by 2030 (source: ippjournal.com).
Projects & Track Record
As of 2023, Alight has over 50 solar projects under management or construction, showcasing a robust portfolio of completed projects. Notable achievements include the 18 MW Skurup solar park for Martin & Servera, which was Sweden's largest at the time of its completion in 2022, and the 7.2 MW Åhus park for Nolato, which features a co-located 2 MW BESS (source: alight-energy.com). The company also commissioned the 12 MW Linköping solar park in 2020, which was enhanced by a 2 MW/2 MWh BESS addition operational by December 2022, marking it as Sweden's largest co-located solar-plus-storage project (source: alight-energy.com). Recent completions include the 215 MWp Lidsø agrivoltaics park in Denmark and the 100 MWp Hultsfred Solar Farm in Sweden, which is co-owned with Neoen and is expected to produce 100 GWh/year for 18,000 homes (source: powermag.com). Ongoing projects include a 100+ MW park in Eurajoki, Finland, and a 120 MW agrivoltaics park in Loviisa, Finland, showcasing Alight's commitment to expanding its renewable energy footprint.
Recent Developments
In the past two years, Alight has made significant strides in its operations and project portfolio. In November 2024, the company acquired the operational 11 MW Ramsjöholm solar park from Soltech Energy Solutions (source: zoominfo.com). Additionally, they secured a €46 million facility agreement from ABN AMRO and SEB for the Eurajoki project, which commenced construction in 2024 (source: impactloop.com). Alight also received an EU Innovation Fund grant for the 120 MW/45 MW BESS Loviisa agrivoltaics project, with the grant agreement expected by March 2026 (source: energyglobal.com). Furthermore, they entered a strategic partnership with Sveaskog for a 2 GW solar initiative over five years, starting with significant parks in Sweden (source: ippjournal.com). The company also appointed Warren Campbell as CEO in January 2024, succeeding founder Harald Överholm, who now serves as Chairman (source: zoominfo.com).

Alight offers a dynamic work environment for its team of "Alighters," focusing on solar development across various departments. Roles likely span development, engineering, finance, operations, sales, and management, reflecting the company's growth and commitment to expanding its project pipeline (source: alight-energy.com). The headquarters in Stockholm serves as the primary hiring center, with potential opportunities arising from expansions in Finland and Denmark (source: linkedin.com). Job Description
Are you already using AI every day to build things - experimenting with automations, AI tools and rapid prototyping to work faster and smarter - and want to apply those skills to accelerate the transition to renewable energy?
Welcome to Alight. We're an entrepreneurial Independent Power Producer (IPP) on a mission to kick carbon off the grid by helping businesses switch to solar and batteries from day one.
Since Q3-2025, we've taken significant strides in our AI journey to accelerate the energy transition. With 20+ Gen-AI use cases deployed across the organization, robust processes and governance in place, and best-in-class AI adoption, you'll be joining an agile and innovative company. Here, AI is being deployed at pace to do good.
To take the next stride in our AI journey, we're now looking for a full-time AI & Automation Associate. This is a hands-on role where you'll together with various stakeholders across the business identify, evaluate and deploy AI and Automation use-cases to accelerate our sustainable growth.
Your impact
You'll help us further accelerate our impact from AI and automation by:
- Identifying, evaluating, testing, and deploying high-impact AI and automation opportunities across the business. This will include automated workflows, dashboards, and AI agents across the company.
- Helping spread AI-first ways of working through demos, workshops, and hands-on support to various teams
- Together with our wider IT and business teams connect systems and data sources to reduce manual work and improve decision-making
In your first 6 months, success means that you have taken multiple already drafted high-impact use-cases from idea to deployment. You have developed our process for how we move from idea to implementation in clear, repeatable way.
We're looking for you
To thrive here, you need to be comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration, and learning by doing rather than waiting for the perfect moment or structure to advance.
You are AI-first, curious and pragmatic. You enjoy understanding how work actually gets done across a business, spotting inefficiencies and quickly testing solutions that make things simpler, faster and smarter.
This is not a strategy or coordination-only role. You'll be hands-on from day one - building automations, connecting tools, testing AI workflows, and helping teams adopt what you create. Some things will work immediately, others won't. That's expected.
What you bring
- Recent graduate in computer science, engineering or business, with a mix of technical problem-solving and business understanding
- Hands-on experience creating automations, workflows, scripts or AI-powered solutions (through projects, studies, internships or work experience)
- Ability to quickly understand business problems and translate them into practical improvements
- Familiarity with data, APIs or databases
- Curious mindset to quickly grasp new AI and automation opportunities as tools develop
What's in it for you?
-
Find your passion and purpose
At Alight, you'll make a real, tangible impact on a global scale by accelerating the transition to a fossil fuel-free world. Your work will be more than a job; it will be a meaningful contribution to ensuring the sustainability of our planet.
-
Work from anywhere in Europe
We're proud to have a flat and autonomous organizational culture where everyone takes accountability for their own work. You'll have the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in Europe, or you can decide to work hybrid/fully onsite at one of our offices in Stockholm, Madrid, Gothenburg, Paris or Malmö. We'll support your home office setup, including subsidies for equipment like adjustable desks and office chairs.
-
Collaborate with a talented, diverse team
To ensure we attract the best talent out there, we don't limit ourselves to a specific location. Alighters are based across Europe and our diverse backgrounds and skills complement each other well.
We know that having a diverse team drives better collective decisions and superior business performance. Today our gender split is 44/56, with 15 nationalities and employees in 6 countries.
-
Be part of Alight's success
At Alight, you'll be a part of an entrepreneurial culture in which you're encouraged to "think like an owner," which means that we trust you to call the shots and excel in your role. Many Alighters are also shareholders, and we believe in giving our employees incentives to create the best possible impact.
Historically we've regularly had warrant/option programs that give our employees the option to own a part of Alight. We also give our employees the option to buy shares when the opportunity arises (e.g. when any of our owners sells shares, we're not a listed company).
-
Recharge when you need it
As an Alighter, you'll have 30 days of paid vacation and the option to exchange public holiday days for other days off. We also offer market-leading insurance programs for all our employees, together with an annual wellness allowance of ???500 (5000 SEK).
At our HQ in Stockholm, we also have weekly activities like lunch runs and Thursday yoga sessions.
-
Have fun together with a fantastic team
While we take our role in driving the green transition seriously, we know how to have fun. We believe that a positive team spirit enhances our collective impact. Some examples of planned activities are Friday breakfast every second week, Guest lecturers with dinner, team dinners, and sports activities. But there are also a lot of spontaneous activities driven by our employees!
Each quarter we also have "Alight Next," our company-wide meetup, a two-day strategy day with workshops, lectures, and team building in which we focus on the next quarter. We also always have some fun activities planned during those meetup days, examples being ski trips, sailing, dinners, and parties
-
Grow professionally and personally
We're committed to helping you grow and embrace new areas of responsibility, whether vertically or horizontally.
It's common for our team members to be promoted to leadership roles or transition into entirely new domains. We have structured career coaching, internal training programs, performance reviews, and goal-setting frameworks to help you develop your career.
