What are we looking for?

The Maintenance Specialist Control and Protections is responsible for the comprehensive coordination of maintenance, protection, and control activities for electrical systems in renewable energy plants, including substations and associated infrastructure. This role requires leadership in managing protection, control, scada systems, and technical oversight to ensure operational reliability and continuity. Additionally, it involves effective contractor management on-site, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, while optimizing the lifecycle management of critical assets.

What Challenges will you face?

  • Support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of renewable energy assets across our wind energy portfolio.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities, contractor execution, and technical interventions to ensure high operational performance and availability.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of plant operations, protection and control systems, and operational processes.
  • Analyze technical issues and support troubleshooting, corrective actions, and operational restoration activities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on commissioning activities, operational enhancements, and future project development.
  • Promote high HSE standards and support compliance with technical, regulatory, and management system requirements.
  • Participate in initiatives focused on operational optimization, asset reliability, and long-term performance improvement.

What knowledge do you require?

Educational, knowledge and experience background

  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent, with solid experience in the operation and maintenance of generation plants, substations, and high-voltage systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of protection and control systems, SCADA, telecommunications, and electrical testing activities.
  • Experience working with renewable energy assets, including wind and/or solar power plants, as well as commissioning and operational support activities.
  • Understanding of plant performance, reliability, and operational KPIs within renewable energy environments.
  • Good IT skills, including MS Office and SharePoint.

Language skills

  • Spanish
  • English proficiency is considered an advantage.
