Job Description

As a Troubleshooter in the Trident Cluster, you will help shape the energy transition of tomorrow together with a motivated and dedicated team. Your workplace? The largest multi-brand offshore wind cluster in Germany. Teamwork and trust are at the heart of everything we do and are an integral part of a culture that drives our success.

The Trident Cluster is located approximately 35 km off the coast of Heligoland and has a total capacity of 939 MW. Operations within the cluster are supported by a Service Operation Vessel (SOV) and the island of Heligoland.

About the role

  • Independently perform complex maintenance and troubleshooting activities based on more than five years of practical experience in generators, bearing technology, and major component replacement, with a focus on Senvion 6.2M turbines.
  • Carry out maintenance work on electrical machines (generators), with emphasis on:
    • Rotor and stator condition, including insulation systems
    • Windings and electrical connections
  • Apply electrical testing and measurement techniques, including:
    • Insulation resistance and partial discharge testing
    • Resistance and continuity measurements
    • Vibration and temperature analysis related to electromagnetic effects
  • Perform generator bearing replacements using proven industry practices, including disassembly, installation, alignment, and quality assurance.
  • Maintain, diagnose, and replace generator slip rings, utilizing extensive experience in fault identification and prevention.
  • Execute advanced maintenance and repair activities on generators, including work on complex failure scenarios.
  • Analyze and resolve mechanical and electrical faults based on extensive offshore field experience.
  • Perform gearbox repairs, including inspection and assessment of damage, with a focus on efficient and sustainable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with and verification of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements for maintenance, inspection, and repair activities.

Job requirements and experience

  • Successfully completed vocational training as an Electrician or Mechatronics Technician.
  • Successfully completed further training as an Electrical Machine Technician / Electrical Machine Builder.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting on Senvion 6.2M126 turbines.
  • Knowledge of relevant German standards and regulations (e.g., DIN VDE 0105-100, German Occupational Health and Safety Act, DGUV, TRBS, BetrSichV).
  • Valid offshore certifications in accordance with GWO standards.
  • Switching authorization up to 36 kV is advantageous.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • High level of flexibility and physical fitness.
  • Proficiency in common software applications, including Microsoft Office, SAP, and Fluix.
  • English language skills at B1 level or higher.
