Job Description

Arup is seeking a Senior Project Manager with expertise in Energy and Infrastructure to lead complex projects across multiple sectors in the Built Environment. This role requires a dynamic professional who can manage the full project lifecycle, from stakeholder engagement and risk management to design, construction, and quality assurance.

This position is based in Johannesburg or Cape Town.

In this role you will be:

  • Developing and implementing detailed project execution plans to ensure successful delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with clients and Arup teams to integrate technical activities and achieve project objectives. Ensure compliance with design standards, legal regulations, environmental requirements, and permits. Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining strong relationships with governments, communities, suppliers, contractors, and team members.
  • Drive quality control measures to meet performance objectives and deliver outstanding service to clients. Oversee project progress, reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Apply technical knowledge in energy and infrastructure, leveraging Arup's knowledge network to adopt best practices.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of construction processes and project delivery.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for people with the following skills

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration; a master's degree is advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or SACPCMP.
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector (wind, solar, and other sustainable power projects).
