You will be responsible for

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on wind turbines to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime
  • Inspect turbine components, including blades, nacelles, and towers, for any signs of damage or wear
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics and diagnostic equipment
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify the underlying cause of equipment failures and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with a team of technicians to complete scheduled maintenance tasks and respond to unscheduled repairs
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new wind turbines
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition

To be successful in this role, you should have

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude for working with complex machinery
  • Minimum of 2 years experience on wind turbines in a technician capacity
  • Experience with Vestas, Siemens or Nordex Turbines is essential
  • Experience in building or repairing mechanical or electrical systems is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and ability to read electrical schematics
  • Familiarity with logic controllers used in wind turbine operations
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis to identify equipment failures and implement effective solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Experience of being an Authorised Technician under the Wind Turbine Safety Rules.

It would be desirable to have

  • Experience of being an Authorised Engineer under the Wind Turbine Safety Rules.
  • Full GWO, Working at Heights and a Medical.
  • 18th edition electrical standard is hugely desirable.

Location: UK Wide, preferably based in Scotland

Hours: 40 hours per week. It would always be our aim for work-life balance to try and ensure that you have your weekends to yourself. However, we have to appreciate the needs of our customers therefore there may be some weekend requirements.
