We are looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to join our Sales team and play a pivotal role in driving the technical-commercial success of Nordex's utility-scale wind projects. In this strategic position, you will act as a senior technical authority within the Sales organisation, leading the development of competitive, bankable and optimized solutions. You will go beyond execution, actively shaping deal strategy, influencing customer decision-making, and strengthening Nordex's position in a highly competitive market. This is a key leadership role combining deep technical expertise, commercial understanding and stakeholder influence, contributing directly to successful deal closures and long-term partnerships.

YOUR TASKS

  • Act as the lead technical interface for strategic sales opportunities, guiding projects from early-stage development through tendering, negotiation and contract signature
  • Lead the technical qualification of opportunities, supporting go/no-go decisions and contributing to the definition of winning commercial and technical strategies
  • Own the design and optimisation of technical solutions, ensuring the right balance between performance, cost (CAPEX/OPEX), risk and competitiveness
  • Manage and coordinate complex, high-value bids and tenders, ensuring high-quality, consistent and differentiated proposals aligned with client expectations
  • Drive strong collaboration across internal stakeholders (Engineering, Grid, Project Management, Procurement, Legal) to deliver integrated and commercially viable solutions
  • Lead technical discussions, customer workshops and negotiations, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor to key clients and influencing decision-making
  • Identify, assess and clearly communicate technical risks, assumptions and opportunities, supporting robust internal decision-making and deal structuring
  • Contribute to market intelligence by analysing customer needs, competitor solutions and market trends, while supporting the development of the team and ensuring a structured handover to execution
  • Working with the sales manager to prepare high‑quality bid responses as required, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with client expectations.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in sales engineering, technical sales or engineering roles with strong client exposure
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or similar)
  • Proven experience in renewable energy (ideally wind) or large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Strong track record in complex tenders, negotiations and contract discussions
  • Excellent understanding of technical-commercial concepts (including cost drivers and project economics such as LCOE)
  • Strong ability to translate technical solutions into clear business value propositions
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complexity
  • Experience working in cross-functional and international environments
