Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President, Legal, the Legal Administrative Assistant provides day-to-day operational and transactional support to Longroad Energy's legal team. This role is central to keeping the team's deal and contract workflows running smoothly across a growing portfolio of wind, solar and storage development, construction and financing projects. As a site-based role, this position is expected to be onsite in the San Francisco office at least four (4) days per week to support collaboration, document management, and partnership with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Contract & Transaction Support

  • Manage and maintain the contract repository and lifecycle management system, including intake, routing, version tracking and execution of agreements (PPAs, RECs, EPC contracts, interconnection agreements, equipment purchase agreements and consulting contracts).
  • Coordinate e-signature workflows (DocuSign or equivalent) and facilitate physical signature logistics, including notarization where required.
  • Support the commercial legal team by monitoring shared legal mailboxes and triaging incoming requests, agreements, and counterparty correspondence.
  • Assist attorneys and paralegal with preparation and assembly of closing binders, transaction checklists, and executed document packages.

Matter Management & Legal Operations

  • Oversee matter management processes, including vendor coordination, invoice review, purchase order setup and tracking against budgets.
  • Track, maintain, and report on legal team data using shared systems (SharePoint, contract databases and tracking spreadsheets).
  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for project documents, title work, leases and legal correspondence.
  • Assist with ad hoc project support including document retrieval, courier coordination and facilitating signatures as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement of legal team processes and workflows.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism at all times.

General Administrative Support

  • Provide logistical and materials support for Company meetings, trainings and events as needed.
  • Perform general office management duties and assist with office supply coordination.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of administrative experience in a legal, energy, or professional services environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), including Mail Merge.
  • Familiarity with electronic signature platforms (e.g., DocuSign) and contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems.
  • Notary Public (California) certification required or willingness to obtain one within 90 days of start date.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Able to prioritize, multi-task and re-prioritize in a fast-moving environment.
  • In office at least 4 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the energy industry, particularly renewables (wind, solar, storage).
  • Familiarity with energy transaction types including PPAs, interconnection agreements and EPC contracts.
  • Exposure to legal technology platforms and AI tools in a legal context.
  • Experience supporting transactional legal teams in a fast-paced deal environment.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $35.20/hour - $45.20/hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and location. This role may also be eligible for incentive plan participation and other performance-based compensation opportunities.
