Job Description
The human resources and finance/accounting teams at All Energy Solar are committed to supporting our employees while driving the company's strategic initiatives forward. We are seeking a resourceful and skilled Payroll Specialist to join our department and ensure that all payroll processing remains smooth, efficient, and fully compliant. Our ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance, alongside a strong proficiency in HCM system reporting and functionality. While Paycor HCM/HRIS experience is highly preferred, the role requires an onsite, full-time exempt professional who will report to the Director of Human Resources and maintain a dotted-line reporting relationship with the Controller. Responsibilities & Essential Functions
- Process bi-weekly payroll for exempt and nonexempt employees, and Commission and Bonus Payrolls, reviewing, approving and reconciling payroll data for timely and accurate payment.
- Accurately calculate and complete entry for additional compensation such as, incentives, adjustments, retro pay, and expense reimbursements.
- Process voluntary and involuntary deductions such as federal and state tax levies, child support and creditor garnishments as regulated by federal and state law.
- Prepare manual checks for terminations and discrepancies in accordance with company policy.
- Process and administer year end payroll reconciliations W-2s.
- Perform all required statistical and administrative duties necessary to calculate and prepare payrolls.
- Partner with HR, Finance, Accounting, Sales, and Operations to coordinate payroll-related activities and address cross-functional issues that affect employee pay.
- Perform routine data-integrity checks on payroll data as required.
- Responsible for data-reporting and auditing, including, but not limited to Federal filings of EEO-1 data; design, data, and distribution of Benefits Statements; submitting compensation/benefit data for federal, state, and optional survey reports; auditing and reporting in HCM system.
- Facilitate implementation of payroll-related system upgrades and trainings.
- Analyzes and audits current systems for accuracy. Edits data as needed, and suggests improvement from implementing system upgrades and enhancements to achieve business objectives or higher levels of utilization or self-sufficiency. Aids employees, supervisors, and HR at appropriate levels of self-service and functionality including how-to manuals and training.
- Research, investigate and resolve problems, corrections and questions relative to payroll.
- Suggest new procedures and policies for improving employee experience as well as the efficiency of the HR department and company.

Skills/Qualifications
- Between 3 to 5 years of experience in payroll along with a high school diploma or GED is required; however, an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, HR, Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and professional experience will also be considered.
- A proven track record in administrative roles within Finance, HR, or Accounting, specifically emphasizing extensive payroll processing expertise.
- Candidates holding Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) status are highly encouraged to apply.
- Established background in managing multi-state U.S. payroll operations for a workforce exceeding 250 employees.
- Expertise in HR systems and procedures, with a strong preference for individuals familiar with Paycor HCM/HRIS.
- In-depth familiarity with advanced payroll practices including Prevailing Wage expertise and administration.
- Comprehensive understanding of employer and employee payroll tax obligations.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to reconcile complex data sets effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, spanning written, verbal, and presentation formats.
- A self-motivated professional with a keen eye for detail, capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize duties in a collaborative, high-energy environment.
- Applied knowledge of employment laws and regulations, such as FLSA, FMLA, EEO/AAP, ADA, Title VII, ERISA, and COBRA.

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer (frequent).

Compensation & Benefits
- This is a full-time exempt salaried (not overtime eligible) position with an expected base annual salary range of $70,000-$85,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
- Onsite In-Person: This position is in-office at AES headquarters (St. Paul, MN).
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (company core hours). This position and the working schedule offers flexibility and may require additional hours outside of normal working hours including but not limited to mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- PTO accrual per hour will be .03847, up to 80 hours annually (120 hours annually after year 1).
