As Short-Term Trading Analyst - Italy, you play a key role in building and scaling Encavis' power trading activities in one of Europe's most dynamic energy markets. You will contribute to the market entry strategy, help establish trading infrastructure and develop data-driven trading strategies across day-ahead, intraday and ancillary services markets. Working in a highly analytical and technology-driven environment, you will collaborate closely with trading, IT and portfolio teams to translate data into actionable insights. This role offers you a unique opportunity to combine quantitative expertise, market understanding and hands-on execution while actively contributing to the growth of renewable energy trading in Italy.
Your Sunny Outlook
- Market Entry & Trading Expansion: You support the expansion of Encavis' European power trading business into the Italian day-ahead and intraday markets and contribute to establishing our trading presence locally.
- Trading Infrastructure Setup: You work with local and technology partners to set up the initial trading infrastructure required for a successful market entry in Italy.
- Development of Trading Strategies: You develop and continuously refine profitable strategies for the day-ahead, intraday and ancillary services markets based on data-driven insights and market analysis.
- Algo-Trading Implementation: You collaborate with technology partners to design and implement algorithmic trading strategies tailored to market dynamics and portfolio needs.
- Performance Monitoring & Optimization: You monitor and analyze daily trading performance, identify improvement potentials and support the continuous optimization of trading activities.
- Data Analysis & Modelling: You apply statistical methods and models to analyze market data, support forecasting and drive informed trading decisions.
We'll Get Wind Of That Soon
- Academic Background: You hold a degree in engineering, economics, mathematics, physical sciences or a comparable quantitative field.
- Relevant Trading Experience: You bring at least one year of professional experience in short-term power trading in Italy, providing a solid foundation for this role.
- Analytical & Modelling Skills: You have strong capabilities in statistical analysis and the application of stochastic and fundamental models; experience with meteorological or commodity market data is a plus.
- Data & Programming Skills: You are confident working with data from APIs, CSV files and databases, and bring solid knowledge of SQL, R and/or Python.
- Project Management Mindset: You have hands-on experience in project management and are able to structure, prioritize and drive initiatives forward effectively.
- Team Collaboration & Ownership: You demonstrate a growth mindset, take ownership of tasks and enjoy working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Language & International Environment: You communicate fluently in Italian and English and operate confidently in an international environment.
