About the position

We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Snowy 2.0 Owners Team. This isn't just another job; it's a chance to be the commercial backbone of a legacy project, working alongside a passionate team in the heart of the beautiful Snowy Mountains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Commercial Success: You'll manage the numbers that matter, from forecasting and cash flow to negotiating variations, claims, and final accounts.
  • Contract Administration: Keep everything running smoothly and compliantly. You'll administer the head contract/main subcontract/secondary subcontractors quantity surveying, handle commercial correspondence, and review monthly progress claims.
  • Strategic Procurement & Negotiation: Negotiate with contractors/subcontractors to secure the most advantageous terms for the project, all while building and maintaining positive, productive working relationships.
  • Active Site Surveillance: Get out on site to review contractor progress, complete diaries, and coordinate with the surveillance team to gather crucial commercial data.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Share your expertise by providing direction, encouragement, and support to our junior Quantity Surveyors.

About the location

This role will require you to work from our Head Office in Cooma, NSW. We can look at a FIFO arrangement or relocation for the right candidate.

About you

We're looking for a proactive communicator who knows how to build strong relationships with contractors and internal stakeholders alike.

Qualified & Credentialed: A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or Quantity Surveying (RICS membership is highly desirable).

Proven Civil Experience: Hands-on experience working within the civil engineering or roads industry.

Contractual Expertise: A strong grasp of EPC and remeasurement forms of contract, backed by a solid understanding of current Construction Law.

Sharp Commercial Acumen: Exceptional skills in commercial forecasting, monthly reporting, earned value analysis, and generating Bills of Quantities.

Dynamic & Adaptable: The ability to multitask, manage tight deadlines, and work just as well independently as you do within a collaborative team.
