As part of the development of its APAC business, and overall global growth, Cundall are excited to announce that we are entering into the Malaysian market in Kuala Lumpur. Cundall have been working on various projects in Malaysia from our offices in Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia so this is the natural progression for the business, building on long standing relationships and offering the same high standard of multidisciplinary design and consultancy services.
Our Malaysia office will enhance our regional presence in Asia, taking on exciting projects locally while also collaborating closely with our regional offices to provide seamless support.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Kuala Lumpur to work on some of the most exciting projects across Asia and internationally.
As part of our established team of expert engineers and technicians, and working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, your main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Manage engineering projects and coordinate resources and activities to achieve short-term time and financial targets;
- Produce engineering designs, analysis models, calculations and specifications;
- Coordinate input from other disciplines and specialisms as required;
- Prepare technical reports in accordance with clients' briefs;
- Supervise and coordinate the production of technical drawings;
- Check calculations, specifications, drawings and reports produced by others, in accordance with Operational Procedures;
- Provide training and coaching to junior engineers.
The Skills
- Accredited BEng or MEng degree level (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Obtained or on the pathway to attaining Professional Engineer registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia or Chartered Engineer status.
- You'll have proven experience of managing medium / large size projects and delivering to time and budgetary deadlines, whilst complying with operational and other procedures.
- You'll have broad and deep technical knowledge in Structural Engineering, plus demonstrable understanding of other disciplines.
- Familiar with local codes of practice and authority submission and approval procedures. Experience of using international design codes in a plus.
- Competent user of relevant structural engineering software, such as ETABS, TSD etc.
- Given the collaborative and client focused nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
