Job Description
Launch your commercial career on a high-growth desk working across Canadian, U.S., European, and international carbon compliance markets. You'll gain real responsibility from day one, direct exposure to senior traders, and a clear path to managing strategic supplier relationships, originating high-value opportunities, and ultimately owning P&L as you prove yourself.
As part of our commercial origination team, you'll specialize in carbon compliance markets across Canada, the U.S., Europe, and other global jurisdictions. You'll work with products such as EU ETS and UK ETS allowances, WCI and RGGI allowances and offsets, and Canadian federal and provincial compliance systems while building long-term relationships with market participants and securing supply for our trading desk.
For this role, we are seeking someone with native level proficiency in French or full professional fluency in both French and English.
This position requires 100% presence at Targray Head Office Monday to Friday.

- Build and Grow Your Portfolio: Proactively source, qualify, and onboard new counterparties through consistent high-volume outreach, relationship-building, and pipeline management.
- Secure High-Value Supply: Identify, originate, negotiate, and secure new sources of commodity supply through proactive outreach, commercial negotiations, and long-term relationship development. Build proprietary supply channels that create a competitive advantage for the trading desk.
- Own Market Intelligence: Monitor market structures, regulatory changes, price trends, and compliance requirements across multiple global carbon markets. Translate complex developments into clear, actionable strategies for the trading desk and senior leadership.
- Identify and Pursue New Opportunities: Research and map emerging jurisdictions, carbon credit schemes, and compliance programs, providing data-backed recommendations to management.
- Accelerate Your Growth: Collaborate with experienced traders, leverage a knowledge-sharing culture, and apply best practices to continuously improve your market impact and performance.
- Source and develop leads independently, employing intensive cold calling efforts to overcome obstacles and distinguish yourself in the eyes of clients.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (Economics is a strong asset).
- Master's degree in Economics or an MBA is an additional asset.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; confident cold calling and relationship building.
- Evidence of high achievement (academics, athletics, competitions, work, or projects).
- Strong quantitative reasoning and critical-thinking skills.
- Language requirements: Full professional fluency in French is required. Strong English communication skills are also necessary to work with international markets and counterparties.
