The role will manage project budgets, costs, liquidity and commercial risks while ensuring projects are delivered in line with approved business cases, contractual obligations, and ILOS processes. Working closely with Development, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Finance and external partners, the Commercial Project Manager will provide clear financial oversight and support sound commercial decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

Tasks

  • Lead assigned projects from late-stage development through construction, commissioning, handover and the start of operations, ensuring delivery against approved timelines, budgets, liquidity requirements, and expected margins.
  • Lead and coordinate the project team, ensuring clear responsibilities, regular communication, timely decisions and effective management of project milestones, risks, opportunities and lessons learned.
  • Manage project budgets, CAPEX, OPEX, liquidity and guarantee requirements, maintaining accurate cost, forecast and project data in the relevant ILOS systems and tools.
  • Maintain the financial model and ensure that project valuation, assumptions and commercial reporting accurately reflect the current project status.
  • Ensure the techno-economic optimisation of each project by assessing commercial and technical options from cost, timing, liquidity and risk perspectives, identifying and recommending the most effective project scenario.
  • Deliver clear project reporting to management and group stakeholders, proactively identifying deviations from plan and developing mitigation measures with the project team.
  • Manage internal approval processes, including Channel Decisions, Requests for Investment and approvals for contracts, ensuring projects remain within approved frameworks and commitments.
  • Initiate and oversee project interfaces across engineering, procurement, construction, project finance, project sale and offtake, enabling efficient coordination across all stakeholders.
  • Ensure key project contracts, including EPC, technical management, commercial management and insurance agreements, are in place on time and managed in line with project requirements.
  • Support contract negotiations and manage commercial interfaces across agreements including TSA, balance of plant, O&M, grid connection and PPA contracts.
  • Coordinate commercial due diligence activities, maintain the project data room, and provide timely information to investors, lenders and advisers.
  • Support discussions with investors and lenders and act as the primary commercial contact after project sale, while coordinating with the EPC Project Manager on technical matters.
  • Manage post-COD activities until TSA takeover or PAC, support punch-list close-out and coordinate the handover to commercial and technical management.

Profile

  • Proven experience managing complex renewable energy, infrastructure, construction, or other capital-intensive projects through development, financing and delivery stages.
  • Strong commercial and financial understanding, including project budgeting, CAPEX and OPEX planning, liquidity management, financial modelling, and project reporting.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and managing interfaces across development, engineering, procurement, construction, finance and external stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of project contracts, contract management and commercial negotiations, including EPC and other key delivery agreements.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to convey the right information clearly to project teams, management, investors, lenders and advisers.
  • Confident decision-maker with the ability to lead project teams in critical situations, manage competing priorities and escalate risks appropriately.
  • Highly structured, organised and proactive, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a focus on practical risk mitigation.
  • Able to quickly understand complex technical, commercial and financial matters, identify key issues and challenge assumptions constructively.
  • Strong attention to data quality, governance and process compliance, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken; additional European language skills would be advantageous.

Become part of a committed team shaping the future of clean energy, together.
