Industriemechaniker:innen bauen, reparieren und warten Werkzeuge und Maschinen. Nach einer vertieften Metallgrundausbildung geht es an das Herstellen und Zusammenbauen von Maschinenteilen sowie an das Aufbauen, Prüfen und Instandsetzen von elektropneumatischen und -hydraulischen Steuerungen.

Darüber hinaus erwirbt der/die Industriemechaniker:in eine Reihe spezieller Fähigkeiten, darunter die Bearbeitung von Kunststoffen, das Hartlöten und die Beherrschung weiterer Verbindungstechniken. Die Ausbildung ist praxisnah, und es wird viel Wert auf Teamarbeit gelegt.
