November 2025 saw the launch of the "Transactable Price Range" feature, designed to address PPA pricing misalignment across key European markets including Germany, Great Britain, France, Iberia, and the Nordics (source: pexapark.com). In October 2025, Pexapark partnered with Drax to enhance price transparency in the UK PPA market (source: pexapark.com). Leadership appointments in January 2025 included Martin Gijssel as Executive Vice President for Market Data, Insights & Analytics and Martin Fraenkel as the company’s first independent chairman, signaling strategic growth and governance strengthening (source: pexapark.com). Additionally, Pexapark structured a 12-year revenue optimization agreement with EDF Energy Customers, further demonstrating its advisory capabilities (source: ess-news.com).

Job Description
Pexapark is the price intelligence platform for clean energy. Covering solar, wind, and battery storage across more than 20 countries, Pexapark helps clean energy buyers, sellers, and investors navigate increasingly complex power markets with confidence. To do this, the company combines market-based insights and pricing solutions with expert-led transaction facilitation.
Unlike fundamental assumptions or infrequent RFPs, Pexapark is powered by real market data sourced on an ongoing basis from more than a hundred counterparties. This enables Pexapark to provide a market consensus view on otherwise non-transparent contracts. As a result, both new entrants and experienced players trust Pexapark to connect the dots across every stage of clean energy commercialization - from pre-transaction analysis, to price negotiation, to post-transaction performance and exposure management.
Founded in 2017 by power traders, Pexapark has facilitated over 40,000 megawatts of transactions and currently serves more than 250 customers across Europe and the US.
The Role
This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious finance professional ready to step into their first Group Controller role. You will own financial reporting, control, and operations across the group, working directly with the CFO in a high-visibility, hands-on position that offers real scope to shape how the finance function is built.
You will work in English across an international group structure, taking responsibility for consolidated reporting under IFRS or US GAAP and the financial processes that underpin the business. This is not a local accounting role. It is a group-level position based in Madrid, ideal for someone coming from an international audit or finance background who wants to move into industry and own something meaningful from day one.
What You Will Do
Group Reporting & Close
- Own the consolidated month-end and year-end close process, delivering accurate P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements across the group.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements in line with IFRS (or US GAAP), maintaining consistency and quality across entities.
- Manage the external audit process and act as the primary contact for group auditors.
Financial Control
- Implement and maintain a group-wide internal controls framework appropriate for the size and complexity of the business.
- Ensure consistent application of accounting policies across entities and geographies.
- Provide guidance on technical accounting matters as they arise, escalating to the CFO where needed.
Reporting & Analysis
- Produce monthly consolidated management accounts with clear variance analysis and commentary.
- Support the preparation of board materials and private investor reporting (VC or PE).
- Assist with financial due diligence, fundraising, or M&A processes as the business grows.
Financial Operations
- Oversee group treasury, cash flow forecasting, and intercompany processes.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable operations, working with local teams where applicable.
Process & Systems
- Identify and drive improvements to financial processes and reporting systems.
- Help build scalable infrastructure as the business grows. This is a function-building role as much as a reporting one.
Projects
- Given the nature of our business and the evolution of the finance function, the role holder will be comfortable managing change initiatives to improve the way we work, from optimising system usage to strengthening processes across the finance function.
What You Will Bring
Essential
- Strong people management experience, with the ability to lead virtual and locally based team members.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of finance experience in an international or multi-entity environment.
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP. This is more important to us than formal qualifications.
- Fluent English, written and spoken. This is the working language of the role.
- Hands-on experience with consolidated or group reporting across multiple entities or currencies.
- Comfortable working across geographies and with remote teams.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage a complex close process with minimal oversight.
- Motivated by ownership and the opportunity to build, not just maintain. Someone who can think flexibly about improving the way we work and is confident enough to agree an execution approach with the CFO.
- Systems savvy, with experience using systems and AI to drive automation and scalability across the finance function.
Desirable
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent). This is a plus rather than a requirement. We care more about what you've done than the letters after your name.
- Background in Big Four or mid-tier audit, followed by a move into industry.
- Exposure to SaaS metrics and recurring revenue business models.
- Experience with finance systems such as NetSuite, Maxio, and Abacum.
- Previous experience in VC or PE-backed businesses, including investor reporting responsibilities.
We Offer
- The opportunity to influence major decisions in the energy sector, supporting the transition to net zero
- A highly flexible environment with hybrid working options
- Options for equity participation in our company
- Company-wide events, including PEXA parties
- A scale-up culture made up of an internationally diverse team of renewable energy experts and seasoned professionals
- A company bonus scheme or company incentive plan
